Already called the guy, he's firm on his price.

I sent it to one of the other Midlands SC guys, Bandy. He is interested and needs a replacement for his wife's bike that got stolen a few months back...

Well here I am. That's my post. I have a KLR (in that link's pic) and my wife has a KLX (though the one in the pic is my friend's green bike, hers is red). She just had a surgery that will require another couple of weeks before she is riding, but she already has the itch again. We would love to get in on one of your get togethers and introduce ourself sometime.

This thread looks amazing: you guys had a great trip. These motorcycle trips are somewhat new to us. We usually go on 2-3 day hiking/camping trips and this felt like "the next level" for us.

Here's hoping we can make a trip!

Regards,

Travis

Glad I didn't look like spam! Welcome!

Stick around long enough and I'm sure we'll get a Saturday ride in the works...we still gotta try out Jman's route to Taccoa.

New Mods for the XT

Whats up guys? Just wanted to share what I did to my bike the last few days. The mods seem to give a little more pep to the XT250. Not many mods that can be done to this bike but I think I did all that I can do to it. I may get an FMF muffler and that might do it. Anyway, here are some pics of what I did.

This is the material that I needed to make a reusable air filter. There is not an aftermarket one for the XT. The locks are for those who want to steal it. just needed them for weight as the mesh glued to the frame.

changed the main jet from a 135 to 140 for more fuel and adjusted the fuel mixture screw. Putting the carb back together sucked.

since I changed the jet I had to adjust the jet needle so I had to shim it. Used the eye of a cotter pin for a shim. Afterwards I drilled a 1 1/4 inch hole in my muffler baffle for air. Became a little louder but plan on getting a FMF muffler to replace but until then I had to drill out the muffler. Glad it's over with and need to take it on a ride. Just wanted to share.

Welcome Cato!

Well ... picked up the dr last week and just rode it around the neighborhood... if my wife is not into the kick start I may be posting it again... went through the Carb and fuel petcock among a few other things and it is running like a champ!

Status update: The video

Well we made it down under and I'm still waiting for the bike to arrive. In the meantime I've already gotten mixed up with the wrong bunch of guys:

Hope all is well.

I always enjoy your videos, canoli. Have fun and be safe!

Where's the rest of the AARSES ?

Hopefully, I'll have the DRZ back in one piece this weekend. All I need is the shim kit to show up.

Nice video Canoli! What are your impressions now that you've been there a few weeks?

I've gotta work on my bike too. Embarrassed to say it's been neglected since the trip. Cooler weather is coming soon though, so time to get moving!
