The dangers of Africa

Hey guys n gals.
Starting to do a 'feasibility study' if you like, on motorbike trip around lower Africa, mainly, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Lesotho, Namibia and Botswana.

At the moment it looks like i will be traveling mostly on my own. While i grew up in RSA, i moved many years ago so im a little out of the loop, now, a major issue is security.

Were can i safely camp?
Id assume ghetto camping in urban areas is a no-no. What about budget campsites? Am i safe enough there? What about Namibia, camping on the side of a dirt road in nowhere ok?

What about the other areas? Getting killed, or worse, my bike jacked would be a real bummer.

You get the idea. Im mainly concerned about personal safety. Illegal camping is probably not a huge issue id imagine, im good at paying people to p!$$ off and leave me alone

I take it from the lack of replies ppl think im gonna get shot in the face.

So i figured out my best defence is to.... PAINT MY GS IN POLICE COLOURS! Stickers, lights, the full deal. Maybe like overseas cop bikes so the local force doesnt have too much of a cry etc.

Think about it... the kinds people to watch out for there aint THAT smart. They aint stupid enough to fk with a cop if they are just looking for an easy score etc. Is that a cop bike? I dunno? Maybe? Do we risk it? A few moments hesitation are all you need sometimes. I think the "maybe's" are just enough to put would be thieving ***** off.
