I'll have to wait till I get home to view the pics. Way too big for my slow at work in the gulf internet connection. But looks to be a good story.

Thanks!!
Sorry if the pictures were too big. I generally go by the 1000 wide rule when posting on a board. I figure most folks are running at least 1074x768. If I should make them smaller let me know. Thanks for all the positive comments. I am anxious to get out on the bike again.

Sounds good to me. Our timing was off by a couple weeks this year. Nice pics on your RR. I got a Nikon, now I need to learn how to use it.

G'day Rob,
Just caught the report, bit s l o w a r e n' t I ? Great pics! Awesome country over there. I did want to ask, how did the metal plate thingy on the back of your bike go? it looked to do the job, did it keep everything away from the paint job? Look forward to seeing what you'll be able to do with the Nikon. Kewl Jon

Oh, you're just killing me here!
I lived for four years total in Aspen. I so love that area. And your 1200S is just stunning. I really, really want to go that route. But, the VFR gives me a very similar feel, it's hard to justify the pricetag. Just a lovely machine and so tempting, though. Nice job!

I love the high def. w/o having to chase after a bunch of links.
But, I can see where others who aren't lucky enough to have my bandwidth at home might appreciate smaller stuff. It does make it harder to surf ADVRIDER at work, when I'm supposed to be working. (LOL) Nice stuff, once again! |

Thanks for the comments Jon, The ride was a blast!! The Hattech luggage rack worked wonderfully. Nothing rubbed the paint, and I had it a bit overloaded as you can see. I used ratchet straps so all was very tight. I probably need to work on my packing skills but that will come with time. I brought too much stuff. (StinkyCheese) Thanks, I love Colorado and Utah, it is a beautiful part of the country. I lived in Alamogordo for a short time, Las Curces is a nice city. If you are out this way let me know. (bouldergeek) Thanks. I would love to live in that area for some time. I think the winter may be too harsh for me. I have grown to love our mild winters down here. I have a good friend with a VFR and he loves it. The VFR is an exceptional motorcycle, no doubt. Basically I wanted a shaft drive sport bike. I almost went with an FJR 1300 but it was a little too heavy for my taste, plus I prefer an air cooled bike. I love the R1200S. Thanks for your positive comments. (joedoe) Thanks, next thred I will slim the pics down a little but I do like to keep them large enough to enjoy. I know what you mean about work.

Excellent report and pics. Good job. What a coincidence, we are scheduled to leave Tucson on Sunday, Sept 7 out of Tucson, up through NM and into CO and circle back through Moab and check out the east end of Lake Powell. Thanks for the ideas and the post.
