It's just south of Kellog IA on Ridge Road

Obviously, that picture was taken many many years ago - before the bridge was closed ;)

There is a foot path around the barricade on the West side of the bridge that a guy could get a bike through - provided he had knobbies. Not that I would know or advocate for such a thing!

ETA - the path is pretty soft and on the side of a very steep hill. I would definitely not try it on a 1200cc Beamer.

I'm planning for it. I would love to do this ride again!
Son's baseball games will have to get skipped this year ... might depend on if they're having a killer season or not though.

Bridge looks sort of like Humpback up by Boone below the Mary Shelley train bridge but I don't think it is...Humpback is in a more wooded area.

Its actually a tunnel under a set of railroad tracks that a creek flows thru and the road does also.Located in Dumas Mo.Story goes that a derailment happened in this spot several years ago and a women on the train was decapitated and till this day her ghost wanders the area looking for her head.
Athens Lake is in the other picture. This is the site of the most northernly Civil War battle. There is houses still standing that have cannon ball holes in the walls.
I can be in Mo. in a matter of minutes from my house so I ride alot of nortern Mo.

Lots of different places to eat. Part of the fun of exploring Iowa.

BTW have you met Guy? The "hump" and talked with him before? Or are you basing you opinion on "never met the guy, and he is more successful than me, so he must be a douchey hump"?

Just basing it on radio interviews I've heard, everything is over the top with that fella. He also gave a non drinker some vodka after promising it wasn't booze. That's a douche move.
