Welcome. There's a few cool Iowa riders around. You'll have to shake the ice off 'em to get 'em to do anything during the winter months.
I was chatting with a dude at StruthersBros about sidehacking in the winter. If you look hard enough, you'll find the lunatics. I tried to bust my KLR out last week, but the battery was DEED. I had left it off the tender like an idiot. Quote:

I'm here in Cedar Falls with a BMW 1200 GS Adventure, and a Suzuki DRZ 400 SM.
The husbands of two of my friends also recently bought dual purpose bikes, I think KLRs or something similar, and will likely join the ADVRider group soon as well. They are from Cedar Falls and Dike here in northeastern Iowa too. Has anybody in Iowa been out riding yet? The other week when it was 50 degrees, I saw two riders on dual purpose bikes in Waterloo. One had a GS, and the other had a KLR. I was jealous, because my bikes are still stuck behind my very long driveway of ice on my acreage!

Cedar Rapids here... The good weather got me inspired to get the KTM ready for spring riding. Its got new tires, sprockets, chain...etc...all ready to ride once the weather breaks. I'm working on my XR650R right now...Plan on hitting the Waterloo ATV park soon for some testing...

There is too much sand at Waterloo, last summer the whole place flooded. Sand is what is left over.

Just go to your local county recorders office at your county courthouse. Take along your VIN number (either your registration or title will do) you will need that for the nice lady to register your bike. You have to have that stuff for the first time you register your bike, after that, you can go to any business that sells hunting licenses and get it re-registered. It's only $16.00!
