But on the bright side, now you have a lot more room to add that sixth gear you've always needed. What the heck happened to that thing???

By Golly! What did happen to that? I'd heard of folks trying to open up the airway a little, but that's definitely over the top.

What does a replacement KLR engine cost these dayze? Did you order it from the factory?

Was looking for a wrecked KLR to use for parts, but got sick of not riding and went to ebay and found a low mileage 2012 for too much $$$, but My KLR has a lot of sentimental value and is set up the way I like it.

I can completely relate. After one spends enough time tweaking farkles, suspension, etc., it kinda grows on ya.
Does the 'new' engine have the $0.22 carb mod done to it yet?

Anybody here planning on going to the Central Rally next month? I'm thinking of leaving Waterloo Tuesday morning (the 5th) and taking a more relaxed/scenic route up.

No plans but I'm not ruling anything out, I'm riding my Tiger to the rally, it's a bit of a pig, especially when loaded (just like me, bwwaaahahaha).
