Thumb Let's DO IT- Southern D/S loop

So, Dr.Z and I have been talking about doing THIS Loop sometime late August or early September (labor day weekend would be a good time for me)... Possibilities are so far endless. It would be cool to get a couple of FF's in on this too.

We have talked about doing the first half, and heading for home depending on time.

Probably camping the whole way, cause I'm too cheap for Red Roof Inn.

Both Eloy and I will need to do top ends en route due to the maintenance schedules on the RFS bikesplus nine oil changes, vavle lash adjustments, and suspension rebuild.

Looking at 5-6 days total on the road. From the thread it looks like most of it is dirt.

Anyone else get their fancy tickled by the thought of this ride?

Looks like we are going to head out Clockwise on 8/31, and running half of the loop into TN. Right now the plan is to head back through GA on THIS route to hit Tallahassee again 9/5. We still need to connect the two together.

The riders that showed are...

Buzz
PK
Dr.BRP
Barney
wishin for woods
Sanjoh
Barney
Kelly
Jaydee1445

Updated the "been there, done that" roster.

Vic, Adept, and Mug did a bit with us. Vic went all the way to Chigger-ha with us before breaking for home

In!

Hopefully some more of you FFs can make it.

I'll bring a couple of spare complete RFS engines in my Ruck!

Interested

Huh? You gonna do this on a KTM?

I would have to rework tires/suspension and gearing, not to mention another seat,,,, but it looks like a great loop.

Lots going on in Sep....for me that is.......

I'll be on my 450, and The Doctor will be on his. Vic I'm running 14/53 right now, but will probably throw on a 15T up front for a ride like this. I also have a Duro rear tire I'll run

What kinda time frame are we looking at here? I'd be up for September as it gives me plenty of time to make plans for work.

PK - No problem on the ride. I can pick you up on the way norf!

Sperz - Dates aren't set in stone yet but Labor Day weekend sounds good. It'll be one less vacation day I'll have to take.

Vico - Of course we're taking the 450s. i'll stuff a complete tool set and air compressor in the ruck right next to the RFS engines and pizza

I'll start running the numbers. The only question I have is do we go clockwise or counterclockwise? :)

Can you post a link to the thread that talks about the loop, for a little more info as to where it goes, how much mileage it is, and the approximate route.

Here you go... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...=646598&page=9

We were thinking of doing the west side of the loop up towards the north end of Atlanta and then possibly coming back on Treeman's route.
