i'm going to watch the videos now.

anyone have a 165 mainjet for a Mikuni BS series carb?

edit: looks like you guys had a good time. there's a decent amount more water than there was last time.

i won't be able to ride much for a while. i have Parker every weekend now. it's starting out as half days so i guess on some days i could B-line it to meet up for lunch and ride after.

Parker is going up north with his mom in a couple weeks, if i can get my tires on and this damn carb sorted out by then i'd really like to plan a ride for that weekend.

i would have loved to Tommy. i'm frantically trying to get my jetting done etc on my bike so that i can maybe ride on Monday. this whole jetting problem i'm having is really starting to piss me off. i think the bike is lean but dynojet says they think it's rich. i'm trying to just find more jets so i can get it on a dyno and get it done once and for all.

i'll lean it out one of these days if i get a chance while i'm waiting for bigger jets, but to me a glowing red head pipe while cruising is lean.

Tommy, I'll tilt the video camera higher from now on. I wanted to see the bike in the shot, but got too much. Check out these guys!

Some wankers on Sable Palm.

Carb problems

Alex, explain exactly what your bike does at what throttle opening. If it's flat from low throttle upon acceleration it may be the mixture screw is in too far. I think there's a section in Thumper Talk on carb problems that explains what to look for with each scenario.

Mixture screw is for idle mixture, i have it set up properly. The bike is surging at higher speeds while cruising and power seems low.

Weekend ride?

Where are we riding Saturday? If Alex can go after noon we can go up that way, pick him up and head East.

Maybe we should plan our camping for the weekend when Parker is up North. We'll find a way for you to carry your camping gear, Alex. I have a big backpack bag you could use.

For information sake, a Yamaha valve will fit that tank too. Better valve, I think.

I rode the bike tonight... it still surging. It feels like its less tho so I might try and put my k&n filter in it and see if it clears up some. Bike still feels low on power. I need to get my wideband on the bike or get the bike to steves on the Dyno and tune it. I still need a tire to. If I can poll that off I'd be down to ride Saturday but really I was hoping to ride on Monday tho in hopes I'd get the bike sorted out during the weekend. Maybe if I can get the tire on I can trailer the bike somewhere. Maybe Cecil Webb or north port?

Kyle you think the raptor petcock will fit a Clarke tank? I know that its a cheap replacement for stock, if it fits a Clarke that'd be awesome.

I think that's the petcock that they've been using.
Do you need me to bring up Tommy's tire for the back today? I could bring it to your work or house, either one. (Text me on that with address).

Sounds like the bike is running lean. Fuel filter OK? No vacuum leaks?

Yeah I think its running lean to but others say rich. I knew wish I had my snorkel right now I'd pt it back in. I'm gong to tape it off tomorrow and see how it runs. If it runs OK it will ha e to be a temp fix I til the let's come in.

I have check for leaks, I don't see any. Bike idles fine, idle circuit is dead nuts on.I think a 165 or a 170 jet will fix it.
