Actually kelsow, though I would love to say it's a purebred HDR image, it's more "pseudo-HDR." You're seeing the magic of post-capture processing with the Nik Software filters (that run in Photoshop, Lightroom & Aperture as Plugins).

First reduced noise, then punched things up a bit with Viveza 2, then hit it with the Tonal Contrast filter from Color Efex Pro 3.0 to give it that "pseudo-HDR" look.

I liked the way it turned out, although I really should bring along a better camera next time! ;-). Posted a larger one (1800 x 1350) over on Flickr: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2702/...aab12bd2_o.jpg

KLR (full disclosure: I work for Nik)

Bottomed out the forks with the Bitubo kit. Preload is set at 2 full turns + of factory setting. I didn't have the right size wrench with me to increase it and try again. I still don't know how many turns to full hard preload.
Anybody know??

Guess I should be counting my blessings that we CAN ride year-round!
Great photos, klarue -- the dez is great when it rains.

Sometimes, however, we have to put up with some boring ol' sunshine.

Here's Mrs levity in Anza Borrego on the inaugural ride (Dec. 17) of her new 650GS:

I'd believe it. I am considering doing my, yet to order, F800GS. The only real concern I have with doing it myself is the durability of the paint when gas gets on it. I have read a lot of home paint jobs dissolve pretty quick after the first fill up and a little back splash at the pump.
