For those that are curious of how they fit on the 800GS, my Aluminum BMW cases finally came in. I like them, great quality, look like they are made for the bike, and they fit decently close to the body. From my eyeballing it, only around 1-2 inches wider on each side than the handlebars. I don't really like the aluminum color of the brackets, was expecting them to be black. They DO feel sturdy. The link has more pics. Haven't decided yet if I'm gonna keep em, need to take them for a spin tomorrow.

Pics below were taken last night at 3AM in the garage, moments after installation.

Si, Señor.

I like it, but it is still too short for the highway. Touratech has that big honking obnoxious thing that clamps to the top of the windshield, but I'm thinking something more on the lines of the Laminar Lip. I've made a couple that fit to the stock windshield, maybe one of them will shape to the skidmarx.

You may want to get your eyeballs re-calibrated there, mostron8. They're a full 8.2 inches wider than the bars.

Width of pannier setup: 1080mm
Handlebar width: 870mm

Yea, you're right, my eyeballs must be out of spec. I hit it up tonight with the ruler, 4+ inches on each side.

Well I picked up mine yesterday

By the time I got home it was pissing rain so I waited until today to break her in. I didn't want to touch any freeway with the new motor, so I stayed on local twisties all day

Breaking in new TKCs on wet pavement (on a bike I'm not familiar with) is a lot of fun!!

Even managed to get her in the dirt at a local OHV area an try some rutted and whooped out roads (no trails until I get radiator protection)

Tried to find some wet stuff, but even the creek bed was mostly dry right now........give me a week, Sierras next Friday!!

I have one and I like it.
They just added crash bars to the site today. (the skidplate is not compatible with any other bars)
The bashguard alone is about $300 shipped to USA
I think you can get a package deal basher and bars for about $550 shipped

http://www.adventure-spec.com/shop/g...ds/cat_39.html

I ordered my bars today.
I too ordered my crash bars, bashguard and hand guards from Adventure-Spec though I have yet to receive any information about when I should receive the items, even after multiple emails to them. I ordered them 2 weeks ago.

Do you or anyone else have any idea how long it might take?

Nope. I'm waiting too. I will say that my bashguard arrived two days after I ordered. I'm hoping they will ship in the next week or so.

Yes, and thanks for the welcome! (it's only been 11 months waiting )

My dealer was really good about swapping out the stock tires for TKCs . I'm sure if I'd got it with street tires I would have changed them myself with plenty of miles left. As it is, it's wet now so I need some knobs, and I love these tires for adventure duty.
