F 650 GS (Twin) Pics

This guy riding the KLR 650 is Damon... I met him and a professor from South Dakota named David at a gas station and ended up doing about 10 days of the trip with them...

Awesome pics!! Didn't anyone tell you though? The 650 is only for girls and beginners who only want to ride on the roads at 35. Real men ride the 800.

Ha ha ..... I've heard that a lot... I was prettty eager to get on the road and the 800 wasn't available yet soI said screw it..

seeing as it is my first bike it seemed to make sense... I talked to my dealer about switching up to the 800 as I plan to do more off road... the only thing is , is it going to be a huge enough difference to lose a chunk of money on?

Did you rip the left box off? Or you just using it as a bike stand

I'm riding a 650 as well, and so far, my opinion is no. You're better off, IMHO, keeping the 650 for what you're doing now, and spending the difference on a more off-road oriented bike, i.e. KLR or XR650 for the more aggressive trail rides.

I have loads of pics but I will try to select a few of my favorites and get them up soon.

Hey mcnasty!! I didnt think I would see/hear of you again. I talked to you at Eagle Plains when we were all stuck there for the bad weather. I was on a Red/White/Blue Dakar from Kansas. When you all left at noon, I ended up heading back towards the hwy. I got about an hr from Eagle and weather improved quite a bit. Ended up sunny at the bottom. Did you have bad weather all the way to Inuvik?? Hope you all made it home in good shape. My trip ended up being 11,000 miles. It pretty much rained on me for the next week after we parted.
