Yes, my solution was to stop using the fucking stupid steering lock. YMMV

Where did you get those GS stickers?

I wish I had the money for the desierto lol.

I'm still searching for a cheap windscreen solution.

I bought the metal mule screen but it wasnt perfect so I'm selling it and continue my search...

Sharp looking additions wvanh! Here's a pic of mine. I have to get a radiator guard and a beak extender yet. Does anybody know where I can find a black rad guard? Or do I have to buy a stainless one, take it somewhere and get it powdercoated/painted black?

Altrider makes a black one.

+1

I chose the Altrider guard for my 800 as it seemed to me to be the best of the lot out there.

But I don't think they are making one for the 650 yet.

The Rotopax bracket worked great... 2 bolts for the box, not so much. (floppy, floppy, no breaky)
I always carry a few of those straps.

I have Kidala's on my 800. I think he makes one for the 650 too. He's in the Vendor section on here.

I love the Desierto but it's still not perfect. There's no wind blast but there is quite a lot of noise.

The graphics are from Humvee graphics, it's the big GS sticker from the F800, so it doesn't fit perfectly, but it looks ok.

Yes, it's necessary for carrying snow chains.

Mine only goes on over winter and it carrys both the 17" and 21" chains, including the tensioning springs (springs wrapped in ziplock bag as they're less waterproof). It is far and away the best way of carrying chains on an F8. Aside from being great from a COG point for carrying something so heavy, crucially, it prevents used chains from getting snow/road gunk all over the rest of the stuff you're carrying in your luggage.
