The weather window was still open, so time for one last ride out to northeastern Oregon, looking for fall color.

![]() Been there too ![]() ![]() ![]() What worked for me (I got stuck a few times during our trip) was to just let the bike fall over with a gentle push and once it's on the ground - on its side - spin it, so the rear tyre is 'out of the hole', and then pick it up: voila! no more digging and sweating for 30 minutes ![]() ![]() Camping @ the 'Pampas Argentinas' was something else:

I just noticed the tool tube on your stuck in the sand shot. Are those Adventure Spec bars? I have those bars and have never seen that setup before. Have you got any closeups of how they are mounted? Any issues with engine heat melting the tubes? Thanks Dan

Yes those are the Adventure Spec crash bars and the tool tubes fit in there very nicely. I'll take some photos of the '5 minute' installation when I get home in a few days. I used zip-ties and they lasted the whole trip ~40,000 kms (~25,000 miles). The plastic tubes don't show any signs of burning/melting from the engine's heat ![]() Now a photo to keep the thread going ![]() Paso Sico, Chile / Argentina border
