Well looks like we cant all go on the same day, so I am going to stand up and say " I am going on Sunday the 29th around 10Am". You can either make it or not....... I may even end up riding alone. I may or may not do the whole loop depends on the mood. whos in?

Couple questions for you regulars. Is it to wet to hit it up this coming weekend? Do the new trail markers make it easy to follow or is the route sheet still necessary? If you start from the main parking area how much trail riding before you hit tarmack connectors? I want to try it for the first time this weekend on my street legal klx 450 so any help is appriciated! I undestand there is about 20 miles of tar if you do the whole 60 mile loop and I dont really want to waste the new knobbies I just mounted up. Do poeple usually run full dual spot bikes on this with full blinkers and everything or bare minimums? Thanks for any any info!

joe, don't worry about wasting knobbies on the roads unless you have really soft compound or "sand'' tires. You will do far more damage to your tires in the rocks! If you have a route sheet, by all means use it but I hear it is almost un-necessary with the new arrowing. Last time I rode the whole loop with others and did not pay much attention to arrows. I have ridden the loop many times but always on full enduro (street tagged) KTMs. I would be very hesitant to ride the loop alone, in the current wet and muddy conditions. I certainly would not do it on my current dual sport XR650L. It is too heavy to pick up repeatedly! I am shooting to ride with the ADV group on Sun AM, this should be a good oportunity to meet and ride with other dual sporters, with the same heavy bike limitations!! BTW it is only 2-3 miles of trail before you hit the first tar stretch, but there is a pretty good loop that can be done with no tar when you know the trails. Hope to meet all you guys Sun, Jim

This is at the top of one of the toughest sections. The 2 stock XRLs in this picture made it with no problem and did not slow anybody down. No problem I am a little concerned about the mud this weekend as I have 50/50 tires on but it is only a tire concern not a bike concern. I do have full knoobies but I probably will not mount them for Sunday... as I am lazy.... and I just put the new tires with heavy duty tubes on. I can also get kind of crazy in the mudd

Great pics banshee! Looks like my big XRL will fit right in! Is that the top of the "power line" (Mt Misery)? I don't have an after market skid plate yet ,and the thought of that climb make me nervous!

Sounds good, can't wait. I'm taking the small bike, because I'm so out of shape, the thought of whipping the 650 around all day hurts already.
