Sounds like a bunch of you will be busy laminating this weekend. Anyone want to ride Pachaug Sunday? I just got some new grips and need to test them out.

laminating

All this talk of laminating has me wondering about something. Does anybody know why you are NOT supposed to laminate your social security card. Yeah, I know I could google it, but what the hell.

Most likely because you can make one on a printer these days, and cover up imperfections with plastic.

Laminating your Social Security card

Updated 03/02/2012 12:51 PM | ID# 624
Is it illegal to laminate your Social Security card?

No it is not illegal, but it’s best not to laminate your card. Laminated cards make it difficult, if not impossible, to detect important security features and an employer may refuse to accept it.

The Social Security Act requires the Commissioner of Social Security to issue cards that cannot be counterfeited. We incorporate many features that protect the card’s integrity. That includes highly specialized paper and printing techniques—some visible to the naked eye and some not. Further, we continue to actively explore and adopt new technologies that hamper duplication.

Keep your Social Security card in a safe place with your other important papers. Do not carry it with you.

Autism awareness at harbor yard in Bridgeport this Sunday. Keeps me away from the pegs. Following week...perhaps.

Rob says tire changes are a breeze....hope to not have to see it on the trail.

Finally took that KTM I picked up from akarob out on the lower loop last week. My first real run with it and my first time on the loop. It was good and made me realize just how old and out of shape I really am. Phew.

If you feel like wasting nine good minutes I have a video of it.

Watched it, OY!
Looks like some sections could be walked faster than ridden... Holy Crap!

Got to finish going over my new-to-me DR350.
I'm dying to get back out in the dirt after so many years away.

I most humbly disagree, I live near the main entrance of the Pachaug Forrest off of Route 49 in Voluntown and have hiked many sections of the official Pachaug Loop and a lot of the Blue Trails. Hiking those trails IMO should be called

"DIRT BIKE APPRECIATION".

The section of Blue Trail that goes up to the actual summit of Mount Misery (NOT dirt bike approved), is a real pisser and every time I haul my fat ass up it on foot, I find myself wishing for the DRZ. I've also hiked the section of official Pachaug Loop from the athletic field in the Pachaug Forrest off of Route 49 in Voluntown up to Hell Hollow Road, This 8 or so miles of loop encompasses a lot of the more technical riding sections of the official Pachaug Loop and makes for a LONG somewhat ball busting walk. My record on that hike is four steps in a row without uttering under my breath "Man I wish I had a dirt bike". All those rocks, that for the most part, if you stay on the pegs and the gas (at least when the rocks are dry) sort of pass underneath a dirt bike, hopefully unnoticed), make for a buffet of little obstacles to sprain an ankle or twist a knee while hoofing it.

I've ridden the full Pachaug Loop dozens of times, but I never really appreciated how long and how much elevation you gain and loose while riding a dirt bike around it until I explored the same sections of the Pachaug Loop on foot. Like everyone who has ridden the Pachuag Loop, I've had some frustrating situations when me & bike didn't go up or down the terrain as quite as planned but walking the loop, well you just have to plan that it's gonna suck the entire time....:)

Ride Safe & YMMV.

Nice Rhode Hazard!

Did you enjoy it?
Your first real enduro ride right?
I see you edited all the falls!
Bike sounds good, I'm surprised that rod knocking sound went away. Boy after that last ride w/ Rob I would bet the engine would never run again!

Now your ready for the upper loop!

Boy is that land dry, be neat to ride it like this to get the lines for when the water is in place!

Congrats dude, we're proud of ya!
