Ed and I had a good ride today. It's just wet enough in there to be interesting.

No troubles? I got a flat on the very last section going up to the netra lot during the rock ride. I didn't really realize it until we were almost back to Central but during the uphiill rock climb before the lot something felt funny. I even stopped to look.
See anyone else out there?

No problems to speak of. The loop is easily rideable even after all the rain we've had. It's wet but we've seen worse conditions. We saw one woman walking her dogs about a 1/2 mile in from the lot then did not see anyone for the rest of the loop. I was a bit surprised about that. We didn't go to the field at Mt Misery cause we did the bypass so I don't know how many campers were in there.

Remember how much water was in there last spring? I remember going through Alligator alley for about a 1/2 mile of constant water, wierdest thing I probably ever rode!

We did see a bright red fox running across the trail at one point. I've seen all sorts of wild life down there in the last few years but still no beaver. I did hear of a guy who saw one on the back of a KLR 650 though

I saw a young red fox there twice last year near green falls water crossing.

Good Ride. Pachaug is back to the normal muddiness and waterholes we have been used to. I was able to pick my way around most of it. Was not able to keep the boots dry, dag nab it.

I'm back

Back from Renfro Valley, KY dual sport ride, Hatfield McCoy and 7 Mountains, PA. I've never ridden up and down so many STEEP long hills in my life. Renfro was wet and we tried an advanced section (hero) each day and they KICKED OUR ASS! There were about 10 advanced sections If it had been dry, it would have been awesome. There was still lots of good riding on the regular course. I'll get some videos posted later this week. Great trip!! And I wasn't on a computer for a WHOLE week..

Tough riding on that greasy mud. How many miles each day?

107 on Saturday and we only did part of advanced section 1, which included two deep river crossings which I didn't film. There were about 5 advanced sections each day. We probably finished 60 miles on Saturday. Sunday was 70 miles and we finished that except we skipped 4 of the 5 advanced sections. The 'easy' one we tried had of course a steep hill which was slippery. Had it been dry, it would have been awesome. You definitely got your moneys worth. Really nice challenging trails.
