No, I didn;t forget the GPS, but I would have got lost had I not been riding with a father son duo from Michigan, the father who first rode the 6D in 1985, so they knew the area well. Rode the dual sport loop, which was mostly miles and miles and miles of nice cruising two track sandy roads which were firmed up and dust free because of the rain. Did some single track. Bush wacked through a section overgrown with raspberry vines and slippery logs you couldn't see. Rode right next to a golf course and on the cart paths. Gas and lunch was at the golf club. 7 hours in the saddle, 140 miles. Lovin' it. Next 2 days will be on the best single track trails Michigan has to offer, according to the head honcho.

Michigan 6D (day 5)

Left at 8:30, back at 6:00. 135 miles. Awesome trails and conditions. Rode with Joe Cronin (MA) and Allen Day (MI). Got lost a bit (whats new), one flat tire (Allen). I was tired at end of day, but a good tired. 90 more miles tomorrow on the best trails although I don't see know how they can get any better. Maybe a bit more technical than today.

Michigan 6 Day (day 6)

Day 6 is in the books. OMG, what a ride! Definitely more technical than previous days and it had everything Michigan has to offer. Other than about 5 mile road section at the beginning and end of the 95 mile ride, you were in the trail. From tight first gear stick farm tight trails to sixth gear soft sand roads and everything in between. Whoops, uphills, downhills, some roots and rocks, off camber, mud, but mostly just twisting and turning past tree after tree, and it went on and on and on. I would put this among, if not on top as the best ride I have ever done. I'm whipped, but a happy whipped. It's been a great week at the 6 Days. If you get a chance, come do it. There is a reason Terry from CT has come here for 17 years.

Michigan videos

A couple vids from day 5. You'll notice in one of the videos we had to go around a few trees down on the trail and a few logs. The trail boss for that day was apologizing for the bad condition of that section. Dude, that was nothing! They are real serious about their trail maintenance in Michigan and have without doubt the best trail system in the country. We did 135 miles this day and almost all on trails similar to these. Nothing too difficult, just fun, fun, fun.

Around 100. You should have been there, would have been 101. BTW, that was Joe Cronin in front of me.

Thanks for posting the videos Gary. Friday was a blast riding the trails with you, the trails out there are amazing. Anybody that is interested, should make the trip out there. Put it on your bucket list, you will never regret it! We are already lining up folks for next year.

What area of Michigan is this? And are these trails that can be ridden anytime with an ORV permit? Looks like a blast
