On both sides of the rim. Seems to be right at the weld point. Got me a bit nervous for Sunday but I won't be able to get a replacement in time.
Front or rear? Westerly RI:

Htat being said, new wheel bearings went in my bike last night so smoothly I was scared. I reused the seals as they didnt look too shot. Im going to order some more and see if I can find metric bearings from a supply house, 22$ for one, and 14.99 for the other two was way more than I expected for non-thrust bearings.

I took the opportunity to magnify the image and I think I found your problem:

Learn something every day. Thanks! I'll tape my hands for Sunday. Still have a couple of blisters from Thursdays ride.

Dammit! I knew I shouldn't have rode so close to him on the 420 Camp N Ride! I caught his trail side maintenance bug!

Fuck it. I'm going to ride it as is for the race and pretend it's not there. I'll just mark this down as dumbass life decision #342.

Thanks for all the offers of help though.

That's a simple butt weld. Tig weld it without any filler rod. Google a nearby welding shop and walk in with it don't even call ahead. 5 minute fix.

Thanks Bomber, but I've decided to ignore all common sense. I'll get it fixed after the race.

Ed, I know what your problem is...you ride too fast! Blisters can get infected and next thing you know they'll be amputating your hands. You better just take it slow tomorrow and let your hands heal up.

And to get you in the racing mood...

I run a welding shop. http://www.autorust.com

I will NOT weld a wheel/rim as official business.
To much liability.
As a friend, i would do it, no charge even. But i disagree with (smoked to many) bomber, thats not a simple tig weld, dirty aluminum is a real bitch to get clean enough to tig weld, maybe you can pile some filler on it, but very little strength.

Just act like its not even there, and ride like you usually do (what did that flyer call you?).
