Sounds good to me. I'm in. The weather isn't looking so great, we'll have to see about that. I'm looking forward to a good ride.

I think the flames were from the coolant. Rusty had mentioned something about it to me at HiTH...has a very high boiling point but is supposedly flammable. http://youtu.be/Moyylu0KN68?t=4m26s Edit: I believe it was Evans coolant... http://www.evanscooling.com/products/coolants/

I like how he tried to smother the flames with dried leaves.

does anyone make a bike that's like 60% trials / 40% dirtbike? Those TKO videos looked like trials bike courses with fast sections..

yes, the KTM Freeride. It's lighter, more trials like, than the rest of their dirtbike line. They're no importing it as far as I know though. The only logic I've heard as to why not is that it's a $10,000 little bike that would be competing against bikes half it's price. Performance would be unequaled though.
It's not as powerful as the 450/500 class bikes, but for trails, do you really need it? Skip to 1:30

Exactly what your talking about, of course the 350's are pretty trials like as well. Especially when youv'e got a National trials champ on the bike! Met some ADVers up in the Catskills last weekend. This guy Nick has done some trail rides in the Colors of Catskills thread and a couple others out of Hunter NY. He was kind enough to meet up and host a ride up in the Mts. I was camping about 2 miles from one of the trails on my Wifes families property. So I geared up and left the family to their day and met up w/ Nick and two of his friends. We did 40 miles of absolutely excellent trails. Different than here but sorta similair to. Severe elevation changes the biggest difference. My wrist held up great for the first 35 miles then started to get sore. These guys were smokin fast and I made it through the day w/out wiping or getting stuck and having to stress the wrist. Got speared on the very last section by a tree that I broke with my arm. It got through my chest, elbow, and side protectors to leave a good bruise. I might try to put together a spring ride of some sort with free camping on our property and try to get Nick to lead us around for a day or two. Would be a Get away camp and ride. It was a freakin awesome ride.
