Same here. The bike is coming out tomorrow whether it is sensible or not.

Backyard Blizzard Blitz helmet cam contest, anyone? Should be good entertainment.

And none of that lame, slow street riding in the snow crap, kenny!

My wife just emailed me some pics, there is at least a foot at my house in West Greenwich RI. She also sent video and it looks pretty windy!

She still has power, cable, and internet.

I'm thinking/hoping the wind will actually help avoid widespread power outages since it will blow off much of the snow that accumulates on tree branches.. My lights have flickered a few times so far but I'm still on line!

This storm is also one of the few experiences I've had where snow fall sounded like rain fall.. In most snow storms with mild or no winds there is an eery silence while the snow falls. A windy (blizzard type) snow storm like this feels and sounds so much different.. I encourage anyone reading this tonight to throw on a couple of extra layers and take a walk outside right now. Especially if you are in an urban environment where you never see streets devoid of cars or sidewalks devoid of people.

Hopefully the repairs and tree trimming after Irene will minimize outages with this storm, although the National Grid outage map shows areas without power near my house.

at least a foot of snow.. power was flickering all night. .finally went out about 30 minutes ago.. just working off my APC now.. my power never stays on during any storm though.. freaking New England and their archaic power grid... this is at least the 10th time my power has been out in the last 3 years.. combined I bet I hadnt lost power 4 times in the previous 20 years.. 6 different states and two different countries.. I think the power over in Iraq was better.

We very rarely lose power at my house in southern RI, Irene we lost it for about 10 seconds. We have been without since 7pm last night though. I suspect we are in it for the long hall this time.

Made it through the night with power.... though for sure we were going to lose it...
just flickering now and then...

The wind is helping to clear my driveway.... so I have less to plow...nice!
Hard to tell how much with all of the drifting... but its still coming down...

Just the opposite for us. My driveway slopes down toward the house from the street but it's now filled entirely with snow. Supposedly we got 38" here in Milford but it's hard to tell with the drifts. There's more than that in some spots, less in others.

Going to be lots of digging before I can get the bike out.ghead:

Got a solid 26+ in western Coventry.
I am amazed I didnt loose power.
Typically a stiff breeze and were out for all night

Just enough snow on the roads to get out the quad. As soon as ya get any speed up, your going the other way,

call me dA'looper.

I live about 2 miles from Bradley Airport where the official total is at 22.3 at the moment. Drifts are big here because it very flat and open. Tobacco fields. The farmer across the street had his greenhouse collapse. He just replaced it 2 years ago when we had 60+ inches in Jan. 2011 and it collapsed then.

I measured no less than 23-24" in the flat open spots around my place. More where it drifted up obviously..

I'm still thinking of taking the bike out a little later but I don't think I'm going to get very far at all..
