Thad, you bought a bike and was tooling around in the woods because you didn't know anyone interested in the sport? Were you one the z?

Here's the schedule link (same site Happy posted) -> http://netra.org/schedule

Netra was like a secret society for me until I came across a kid in the woods who raced enduros. He clued me into the Netra website and that's when the real fun began. My first dual-sport ride was put on by Rusty's club in 2009. I didn't know anyone but met a guy named Steve who said I could tag along with him. That's the first time I meet Claudio, too (blue rain coat below). I can still picture him blasting by me through two feet deep puddles on his Transalp. I was thinking "Wow, I wish I was that fast!". Then he took that beast through a water crossing that was up to his tank and made it. On the other side there was a drowned KTM 990 that they were trying to bump start. There's always memorable moments at these events.

Don't acuse me for being the inspiration to your madness!

There will be some big water crossings on my trip to Canada in June. I need to make sure I can do this on the trail.

It's still pretty weak. Bones take 12-16 weeks to heal. I can't do much before the end of April without risking a re-break and going back to square one. I'll take good care of it and be back soon enough. The nice spring weather is very tempting to ride though. I just warmed it up this weekend.

Yeah basically. In the beginning I just explored local gravel roads and trails that I came across on the z. I met a guy at thomaston dam once who said he had raced hare scrambles there in the past. He might have mentioned netra but I wanted nothing to do with racing at the time (too scared) so didn't pay much attention.

Sooo.. It's not if everyone is riding this weekend, but where?
Will Pachaug trails be closed due to the soft ground and erosion?

Say hi to my mom when you're down there! Enjoy our sugary sand and alarming lack of signage. Good luck & post up!

Same reason I bowed out. I'll put it on the bucket list.

you mean this?

there is a video that goes with the picture above starting this ^ very waterlogged 990.

I can't seem to find it on youtube now. When it finally starts it belches about a gallon of water out of the pipe.

I can't wait. A few of us were talking about riding up your way to go camping and visit your new place. When I say "up your way" I mean "camp in your yard". It'll be another month before I think my shoulder will be healed enough, but sometime in late April maybe. By that time Pachaug will be open so who knows. Maybe I'll just do a Camp-n-Ride here.

You guys have any kids yet?
