Given that Rich Lafferty beat us by more than 50 minutes I'm not too hopeful.

Edktm ripping it up...

LOL. That be a real cool pic if I wasn't a mere 5 inches off the ground. :

Notice the flapping radiator shroud.

Hey, that would explain why Mr. Crane was faster than me!

I swear I heard him beeping at me a few times. I thought I was imagining things on the trail cuz I knew the XC's don't come with a horn stock.

Crongrat's on the C250 podium, Edktm. (Er, sledstorm1)

Great job guys. Thad & Ed, you keep racing and you won't be in the C class for long. Yeah, isn't it amazing how fast the fast guys are. I can't in my wildest dreams figure out how they get through those trees so f'n fast.

Holy shit! I'm thrilled!

I was feeling weak and tired on Saturday with hope to just complete the course. Dinner at Joe Italiano's helped. I was good to go Sunday.

And yes on the horn. I was beeping it just to mess with you.

I need to step it up now. The more I think about the more I believe Ed let me win. He was on my ass the whole time he was behind me and on one section when he got past me I couldn't catch him. Lucky for me he overshot a corner and got hung up in the sticks, allowing me to get by. He also stopped at one point to catch his breath (so he says anyway) only to find the check was less than a thousand feet down the trail. LOL. His racing formula of a new 2t, tuned suspension and cardio are definitely paying off.

And yeah, that 50+ minute difference between us and the pros is amazing. Even if I shave off a generous 15 minutes from dropping the bike, burning a check and missing the speed change on that last section, that still leaves 35 minutes of pure SLOW.

Definitely one of the funniest races I've done and easiest from a terrain standpoint.
