Saturday it is. I'm in anyway.

Last weekend when I rode, there were a lot of new BIG blow-downs. Some had been cleared, some had go-arounds.

Another thing that was worth mentioning, was the number of branches slapping you in the face. I've personally pruned back a mile or so (not recently) of trail because it just that annoying. It's due for a good shave and a haircut in a few stretches.

The full loop is a tricky ride. Lots and lots of technical riding. I'm looking forward to it.

Al and I took out one big strainer on the north loop..but I agree.. tons of face slappers out there.

Rock Ride

Is anyone familiar with what parts of the loop the NETRA "dual sport" ride this weekend bypasses?

I know the regular Rock Ride does the entire loop, but the NETRA site says "or a 100 plus-Mile Dual Sport Ride through dirt roads and easier sections of the Pachaug Loop" which is vague at best.

Basically I am wanting to do the ride on my G650x, and therefor don't want to deal with Mt. Misery, Baby Head, etc....

I doubt you'll have any trouble with the ds ride based on seeing you ride (and then disappear) at the CnR

Route sheet

So who is doing the big bike ride? I can't make it now, something has come up, but I want to get my hands on the route sheet to see where they are going.

I have ridden the NETRA loop many times and have been around some of the dirt roads in the state forest on my 990, but I don't have a loop to ride yet..

Also, some coworkers are looking to rent from twisted throttle and ride some dual sport, and since the route passes TT, I thought this loop, or part of it, would be perfect...

Any help is appreciated....

From the organized DS rides I've done, most of them have sections that are only open due to special permissions from property owners and people are asked not to ride the trails outside of the event. Most of the route is sure to be legal every daybut some sections may not. I suggest you contact the folks at Central Cycle club to see if any special land use permissions were granted.

As for renting a bike from TT, you should call them directly.
