Took the new-to-me CRF450 on the southern loop yesterday. What a fun bike. I've bled orange for a long time but the previous owner set this bike up perfectly. Testament that a mx bike can make a great woods bike with the proper set up. The only complaints I have is that it's a five-speed and the 50t rear sprocket needs swapped with a 45t. The ride was uneventful until mrt10x popped his "flat cherry" 1/8 of a mile from the truck. I'd much rather be riding today, but I'm washing bikes instead.

Great ride today. Conditions were great, no dust. No rain until the gas stop before Mt Misery. We all did that part in the pouring rain. A couple went down. No major injures, bike were ok. We just skipped Baby Head to save ourselves some pain and finished out the upper loop in the rain.

The rain stopped about the time we got back to CCC, and we rolled onto the track for a couple laps. The track is a lot bigger than you'ld expect. Nice elevation changes too. The track was mint and groomed before we left, and after the ride it was like 6" of mud all the way around. I got more air than I'd gotten before on a few of the jumps, and I didn't suck out there, I'll consider it a success. You should see the good guys rip around this track, HOE LEE SHIT. Mud was not slowing the good ones down at all.

Sounds like a fun ride. There were some serious face slappers out there yesterday. I couldn't carry enough speed through the whoop sections cause I kept getting bitch slapped and nearly impaled once. Plan on camping soon?

Too much. It's a 2012 KLX 110L with 17 hours on it. I paid $2400 for it new and my 11year-old son has lost interest in riding. We're going to head to Thomaston Dam next weekend to see if we can rekindle his interest. If not it might be for sale soon.

Videos from the CCC Rock Ride

Trails were the driest I have ever seen for Pachaug (until the rain at the very end). Almost no puddles and the Green Falls water crossing was below the tip of my muffler. No problems getting across this year.
I seen Claudio early on but everyone else in my group wanted to keep going....... it becomes more like a race every year.

Anyone thinking of this ride? http://www.durtydabbers.com/

It's pretty tame compared to a lot of the rides up here but it's still a good time. The best part of the loop can be seen here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLtt0Cx6oWg .

Yea nice work. You dud well up Mt Misery too except for when that tree tried taking your head off.

I wasn't in those videos, too bad because my crossing was stellar as far as I recall.

In other news, I think my top end is finally showing signs of giving up. I think im going to bite the bullet and take it in so they can give it some love while I'm away on vacation. Theoretically, I could do it, but they will be much better and faster at it. It's been a hell of a fun 250 hours, here's to 250 more.
