So why not work the TnC into our Matt-O-Rama?

I joined NETRA earlier today. My thinking is to ride the Thrill & Chill Saturday turkey run warmup on the Husky, then the adventure ride on Sunday on the V-Strom? We'll see.....

Sat. is the big bike event and Sunday is for the Husq.

I was in for both days until today. I got an invite to my nieces wedding that Saturday at 4pm. Screws up the steak dinner too. I'll just trailer over on Sunday morn for the TR.

for all you KTM heads, and Husaberg www.ktm-parts.com has a 15% 4th of July coupon July42013 Combine that with the 10% you get if you sign up for their site, which you need to do to check out anyway, plus their already discounted prices, and you can get some pretty good deals on Orange/Blue parts/gear.

I was on kenny's starting row #10, great video kenny!

I said to the B level rider in black next to me on the starting line "Hi I'm bomber, you probably won't see me again after here!"

He says "Why, you gonna rip it off the line?" obviously thinking I have some off road kung foo, which I don't.
The xrl started instantly but I waited for the real riders to leave the line. When the two remaining riders were kicking away trying to start I idled away thinking I would try to catch kenny.

My ride ended quickly at the second pallet bridge when the 350lb xr650 went into knee deep black mud!
A helper and myself trying to free the beast only managed to bend the chain guide which derailed the chain and bound it up good.

So now I have a 350lb bike up to the side covers in mud with no chain drive!
It took four of us to pull it free and then a tool run to get it going under it's own power.
By then I think an hour had passed! Not wanting to throw a chain again with a bent guide I packed it in and loaded the bike and headed to retrieve my fuel and drinks at the refueling location.
Pure luck I ran into kenny at the refueling spot, told him about my bad luck and gave him 40 ounces of warm gatorade, hope it helped you ken.

My goal was to get off the couch and enter a netra event, I did, thanks kenny and all the other riders on here who inspire others to get out and ride!

I had a blast and will do it again, with a lighter bike though!

The XRL is a fine bike for doing the Enduros and Turkey runs if your goal is to just get out and ride. For a bike with a real steel subframe that you can mound some luggage to, it makes a great dualsport you can camp off of. One of the best in my opinion.

I'm on the fence about going to Thrill and Chill. I haven't done it before but I know it'll be a good time so I'll make it if I can.

Yes the XRL is very capable, my riding skills have yet to pass the xr's abilities, the problem is I'm weak with no cardio!

So a 150lb lighter bike would be best for me to start out with. When I bought the xrl I picked it to fit my size, I should have picked a bike to fit the woods/trails size.

I'm way behind in this thread, but after talking with the soon-to-be-retired mrt10x, I'm thinking Pachaug Camp N Ride the weekend of July 19-21 to celebrate Matt's 23 years of service to our great country. I know this is the Thrill & Chill weekend...maybe some of you riding that weekend could at least head over to Green Falls and lift a beer to a pretty good guy.

Mark your calenders!

I need folks who live nearby to Pachaug to grab a couple of spots at Green Falls (think: pond as it's gonna be hot!) as cheese and I can't get down there until about 5pm on Friday, 7/19.

I will make burgers for Saturday night. I make good burgers.

Note that there is no alcohol allowed at the campground in the summer. Read into that what you want.

In! This deserves its own thread. I'll start one later if you don't. Don't make me name it, you'll be sorry.

In

I will be up for at least the Sat night hang out.
Not sure if I can get a ride in, I won't know until the last minute.

Thanks Matt for the BBDOR and loop rides.
Especially for hauling over the DRZ to let me ride the loop before I got the wrr.

Oh and all the gear advice too...
