Too much nonsense to list.

Suffice it to say, they will not sell me so much as an oil filter, or even an o-ring ever again.

I will pay twice as much elsewhere, rather than give them one more red cent of my money.

So here goes...has anybody entered a 690 in a Hare Scramble? Is it even allowed? Or would that be right up there with the see-who-can-catch-the-Lawn-Jart-from-50-feet idea I had with my brother when we were kids?

How good of a rider are you, do you regularly take the bike through rocks, roots and mud? People enter 650 size bikes occasionally. The KTM is certainly more than capable, but if your new to dualsports and you have to pick the bike up a lot, it'll be a tiring ride.

I've been riding for 30 years, plenty of woods background, but no racing. More fit than Charlie Boorman, less fit than Antonio Cairoli. Absolutely no fear of making an ass of myself.

Goin' Old School

Hi all,

The time has finally come. All of the stars are aligned and I'm ready to ride Pachaug. It's taken me about, ummm, well, 10 years to get here. I've decided to go old school and use my XL350R for reasons, well, even I don't full understand. The suspension has been upgraded to XR stuff, the engine overhauled, new DOT knobbies, etc. I bought this bike in '85 and it's been one of those things in your life you don't get rid of. I've been trail riding in the NE CT area for 25 years, but I haven't gotten out more than a few times a year for the last 10 or so. The last couple of years I've been using a XR650 for trial riding. The 650 is a great bike but the 350 is registered and, well, why not give it a go?

I'm only 25 minutes from the Spaulding Road lot and plan to start off in that area. Can you guys offer some pointers, trails to hit, trails to skip, etc? I'm hoping to get a couple dual sport owning buddies of mine to join me but it's been excuse after excuse for years now, so I'm going without them. I'm aiming for Aug 10th or 11th if anyone wants to have a good laugh!

I'll see ya out there!

Don't go alone the first time, ride with a group of the regulars that meet there.
You'll have a much more enjoyable ride!!

Good point...... I agree. Who are the regulars and what do they drink? I need to make it worth their while!
