This is a new one for me. Stem simply separated from the tube. No tearing at all. It was one of those Bridgestone UHD ones too. I put a tube in with no patches. Lighter weight, but clean and fresh. I guess this is a good example of why you should bring an extra tube.



After witnessing a lot of corrosion on the spoke ends inside of my wheel and on the valve stem every time I change my tires, I'm a firm believer in liberal us of WD40 on all the spoke adjusters before a ride.

They say to double nut the stem but leave about 5mm gap between the rim and the nut. That gives it slack if the rim and tire tries to spin.
I switched to UHD tubes ever since I rode out of the Ridge on a flat front tire because we couldn't get the wheel off. Sucks riding hardore track on a flat front. My arms felt like Hillarys face!

Was all set to join you guys tomorrow for a he man Pachoog ride, bike prepped and ready to shred a set of tires with one more ride left in them, checkin my paper work, and my reg. expired over a year ago. Never got the renewal in the mail. Doh!
