Low Water

That is part of the plan. There are a couple of big rocks with holes in front of them we plan on winching out of the way.

The other part of the plan is to clip back the face slappers and clothes lines on the trails leading in and out of the crossing.

We don't want to make it too easy, just take the tip over hazard out of the equation.

Green Falls

Green Falls Road is a dirt road off Route 49 in Voluntown. It is on a sharp curve and there is some sort of a Chicken Farm on the corner. It goes into the Green Falls Camping and Swimming area of the State Park.

We are starting from the trail that is a left turn off the dirt road that leads to the water crossing.

Normally I'd be up for a ride, especially with weather this nice. I'm still pretty fragile though, chest is still quite sore. I'll probably need a few more weeks before I go banging through the Pachaug rocks.

AKArob you should do my NEVA 14 thing on 8/1 big bike with dirt roads pleasent not challenging not dual spork but fun anyway

Caveat Emptor.. bought my son a ttr 125 and discovered the frame broken under the plastic in 7 places so time needs to be invested with a frame swap

Looks like a fine time but I can't make it. I have tickets for Soundgarden and NIN at Jones Beach on the 2nd and my birthday is on the 3rd. No way I'm getting a pass.

I have to start thinking about when the next official Camp-n-Ride will be

Thanks!!

Thanks to Jim B, Todd L, and Todd P for their help yesterday cleaning up the water crossing trail. The deer flies were brutal!

We eliminated most of the face slappers and clothes lines, a few logs and stumps, and moved a rock or two in the water crossing. The water was about a foot deep after the rain on Friday-still much lower than it has been in years.

Looking forward to our next ride-probably the Sunday after the Thrill and Chill.

+ 100

I'm pretty sure that it was on that trail I had a vine or pricker drag across my helmet opening and scratch my face pretty good last Monday.

That water crossing will be much better also. I've been staying out of it most rides because 4 strokes are so expensive to fix if you hydro-lock them.
