I'm really really sorry I missed this ride... but my DRZ still looks like this...



and my KLR needs brakes... hopefully next year....anyhow .. I did get my cooler.

The DRZ should be ready in time to make M1 Jeep's Kennedy Meadows ride....

Again, a great weekend. Great riding and great activities. Quite a bit of excitement for the last night. A wild fire and a rider down that could have gone horribly differently. (never trust the black cows, at night, with no running lights. ) Thanks Stonewall and H8Chains and everyone else who contributed to a great time.
Looking forward to the next one and more "Rarely Seens".

Yeah.. he got beat up pretty good, but he'll eventually be ok. As a matter of fact, the rancher did get there and they butchered the cow. Jeff got a 2-fer. Cow was preggo ( I don't think any of the ADVriders are to blame for that, though). Compared to what it could have been like, ConnestogaMan got off fairly easy. That was a BIG cow!

Based on your track record, I'm not going to even bother with a response. Plus I already admitted being a pansy for not doing it. BUT, Jake practically TOOK the bike from me- I was just exhausted at that moment and said uncle. Again, I can't thank Jake enough.

I saw the accident while sitting in the darkness at camp watching the stars.
The sound of a GS impacting the pavement made my skin crawl.

I'm relieved Jeff will make a full and speedy recovery.

I noticed about 1/4 of the folks returning from the summit looked severely affected, and not in a good way.

First order of buisness was to convert the Commuter Rocket.

Left home Thursday morning at 6:30 planning to take the "Rider914 2-Day Adventure route" for a Friday afternoon arrival.



This was to be my first time camping off a motorcycle (nOOb).
I always start and finish my rides on DIRT.




So far...I'm lovin' it!

A couple of weeks ago I urged an inmate NOT to go to Death Valley in the Summer. But I didn't say Panamint Valley.

Zen, Sandplow (Tony), and Kevin had lots of fun in the water crossings. We splashed the hell out of them, playing in the water. I guess the HP2 intake is positioned better than Gillafunk's GS, 'cause we hit the water pretty hard a few times.

Sandplow and I returned to norcal via Monitor/Ebbets, and passed Kevin going east at the bottom of Route 4 just east of Murphy.

What a great ride and riding partners. Had a blast, enjoyed the company, and glad to hear everyone is whole, except the cow. Thanks to Stonewall and others who put things together.
