Great reports and pics everyone!

This is my first post on the forum. I have not had a bike in years but hope that will change before next years ride.

Love seeing all the local pics!

Tahoeacr,
Yes, you missed out on some great riding the next couple of days. Here are a few pictures from your Friday ride with the crew.

First here you are ripping it in the sand section.

Taking a rest.

Then our run up to Laurel Lakes.

Made it to the lake

It was great riding with you and hope to see you back for the whole thing next year.

So.....bike is back. All is well. Out of the 8 bolt holes on the 2 heads this one was the only one that had NOT YET been heal-a-coiled(sp?). A simple fix. Im back on the road. Still though, Im waiting to get the time to look at that 2007 DR just out of town. I can already hear it; "G-FUnk, take me to the White Mountains, PLEEEEASE!"

After my hikc, I hit up Tahoe Racer for that ride. It was great! Thanks to Tahoe Racer for taking my on a very nice loop in the Tahoe area. I had not been down the Kingsbury Grade and it was like flying with the quick elevation drop and the switchbacks and the valley floor below.

Thanks to you guys, Tahoe Racer's KTM is now perfect. It's totally maintained and farkled but scratched up too. Just perfect.

Also, he knows all the good dirt around there (I skipped out on that this time) so if you need to know that, he's your man.

And yeah, I got back in time to pick up a chicken for dinner.

Thanks, Tahoe Racer!

Oh, and
Your wisdom and guidance were, as always, appreciated. Noone else on the ride knew all the buildings in Bodie and who lived in them. It's cool they still have your old truck there...

and the school house you started your teaching career in....

Good to have that local knowledge on any ride, IMHO.

Some of these guys (like inte) go from mild to wild. I personally use a Canon Powershot SX100is. I mainly got it b/c it's a point and shoot, has 10x optical zoom, 8 mp, and is pretty cheap.

It takes great pics and I'd like a really nice SLR, but I find myself scrambling as it is just to get the point and shoot out, so an SLR would just be too cumbersome on most trips.

A big thanks to Stonewall and his crew for putting this together! We had a great time, and the ride to the gate at WMRS was the best, longest gravel that this off-road noob has done to date.
My repaired hip held up really nicely (at least until Sunday, when I tweaked it pretty badly helping to push-start a dead bike) and I really enjoyed the company of a bunch of great people.

Looking at my pathetic pics on Sunday night made me realize just how much I need to replce my 5-year-old point-n-shoot, too.

BTW, Giddyfunk, it's "Heli-Coil." My guess is that you'll need to type that again if you don't buy a single pretty soon.
