A couple of us are always looking for some good dual sport riding down here, and would enjoy meeting up some weekend. We work in Plantation. A few worthy places... Loop Rd, Holy Lands, Everglades City, Flamingo Lodge, Snake Rd, the Lake Okee dike... tho that last one was rudely interrupted by a ranger who eventually calmed down and actually didn't write us a ticket. Apparently the paved path on top of the berm isn't intended for us riders? Too bad, cause it was such a nice ride while it lasted (from Clewiston south to the Park)!

You'd think gettin off-roads would be easy in the everglades, but we haven't been very lucky so far, so any tips would be more than welcome!

Wink

Yesterday it would have been tough for anything two-wheeled to get of the levee's, as there is water in the 'glades again, which is a vey good thing. There are a lot of levee's to ride on near Holey Land etc, and when I have some time, I'll try to trace a few that may lead close to the Ft Meyers area. At least to get there without being on I-75 would be a huge improvement.
Maybe we can get more (ADV) riders out this coming Sunday in Everglades Holiday Park for a meet/ride??

Yessir...I'll take a double

The Holey lands did have potential but unfortunately we didn't have a whole lot of time to XPLOR! Great ride though!

Sonic, it looks like we're gonna try and catch up again next weekend so rally up...

It is west of US27, about 15-20 miles(?) north of Everglades Holiday Park. There are lots of ATV going there but once you go further west their numbers thin out..

The Holey (not holy, FYI) lands are at the Broward/Palm Beach county lines just west of (and accessible by) US-27.

Speed limit?...hmmm. maybe on the pavement. FWC is usually cool with a little respect and cooperation...you should know from being on the water!

I am still interested in the oil filter wrench and I need to get some literature on your fishing charters to post in the Islamorada rental house...

I'll be down this weekend on the Tiger. Are you guys riding?

I'll offer an after ride party/cooldown at my place in Sunrise.

The FWC guys are cool and mostly leave us alone. The Everglades Park sticker on our skiffs separates us from the amateurs
I had a brainfart and the 1150 oilfilter wrench won't work on the new 1200 filters..
Literature can do..
Hopefully see you (and others???) Sunday..

I like the Anakees on the Tiger. They are worn so I bought a set of TKCs to try. JackDaniel was running those saharas on his MZ, seemed to do great on em till the mud plugged em up.

Are you riding this weekend?

I guess the anakees are good for heavier bikes, I have a set of Avon Distanzas on the Africa Twin and they seem to work pretty well. Maybe I'll take her out this weekend...Sunday morning it is!

Tiger a "heavier" bike? It's a pig! Only issue with the Anakees is on gravel they are shakey. Once I adjusted to the movement it was predicatable!

Let's ride Sunday. How bout we met at Lester's Diner on 136th ave in Sunrise around 8 for some breakfast?
