The Superbug rides West to meet Herbie
The forecast for the weekend was for hot weather but I had plans to ride to Randle, WA to camp and for some riding with my friend Tantrum and a bit of heat wasn’t going to stop me.
![]() My F650 was out of the garage and I was about to load my gear when . . . . . ![]() Tantrum called and suggested we make it a tiny bike weekend. It doesn’t take much to convince me to ride the SUPERBUG so I was up for that plan. ![]() The SUPERBUG was going to get to meet Tantrum’s Herbie. Herbie is the reason I decided to buy a DR200 so it’s only right that the two bikes meet each other. I threw every thing on the SUPERBUG , kicked Wilbur the cat off and I headed out. ![]() Headed out from Spokane, WA ![]() ![]() Fish Lake (The fishing isn’t that good there )![]() With all day to ride the 300 miles across the state I planned to see some new roads and avoid the interstate. My route plan took me into the Chaneled Scablands of SE Washington. The Channeled Scablands are what was created when during the ice age there was some global warming and the great Missoula lake flood came running through the area and out to the pacific via the Columbia River.(If you have an interest in these types of Geological formation google Channeled Scablands )This area is really very interesting especially in the spring before it’s hot and dry. I have ridden from Spokane to Sprague many times on backroads avoiding the interstate but today I wanted to try new roads. This was fun I had never been on these roads.![]() It was a bit dusty ![]() There was a farm in the distance and for a short while it appeared this road was going to end at the farm. ![]() The road went around the farm and up this. ![]() and this ![]() Where I came from ![]() ![]() Where I was going ![]() Whooooopy roller coaster ![]() Not so whooopy when I got to the second dip and it turned to a eeeeeekkkkkkkk as I hit about 12” deep very fine silt , the SUPERBUG and I started to dance, not a pretty dance, we weren’t dancing together and it wasn’t a graceful dance but we didn’t go over - - I threw my feet out and my legs were flailing all over the place as I was trying to keep the SUPERBUG from going over. I’m glad I wasn’t riding the 650 Whewwwwww (it was still a fun road )The road got better ![]() More to come . . . . . . . .

I was still making my way to Sprague
and it just kept gettig hotter and drier.![]() Then I was back on pavement ![]() ![]() Old trucks, I like old trucks ![]() ![]() On my way to Ritzville now, still avoiding the freeway. Ahhhhhh yes, I’m having a good time with the SUPERBUG . This Sprague Lake, the freeway is on the other side and this is the first time that I’ve seen this side of the lake. I didn’t get much of a picture though, the lake is much bigger but what the heck, I tried. ![]() Ritzville is about 60 miles from Spokane but with my exploring I had turned it into closer to a 90 mile ride. When I plotted the route I had planned to ride the 650 with an easy 200 mile range and since I was now riding the SUPERBUG I needed to change the fuel stop plans a bit. A quick stop in Ritzville to top off my tank and I was on my way again. ![]() I need to sort through my pictures before I can finish this up, I’ll be back later with more. . . . .

no nudity and for this trip there is no blood or bike carnage although there is truck carnage later....... Now where's your ride report from the weekend? Quote:
Me too, the SUPERBUG makes me giggle and I've put about 5700 miles on that silly little bike this year, a person would think it's the only one I own.
