Heck yeah!! Sound like a plan!!! I want to leave later in the year to avoid most of the heat in Moab and Nevada as that is all desert crossing!!
Slab to Trinidad and start in CO, when do you want to go???

Thanks for your kind words!
Good to hear that the GS is the right bike for the remaining part of the trail .....I would do it on that bike anyway..

Met in Paonia (post TAT)

Oscar! Thanks for posting "real" pics of the TAT. I've had TAT on the brain ever since I found out about it this Spring and have been reading other people's ride reports--yours is the first one I've found to really show the rough spots (most people are too busy negotiating them to take pictures of them).

I've been on the fence about whether to ride it on the little bike (350) or the big bike (1150), and it would seem the big bike is do-able and probably the better choice for getting home afterwards. Thanks for the report and for the pannier help in Paonia. [BTW, I never did get a picture of the inside of your tent--only a damn engineer would have it THAT organized.]

See you on the road!

Take the GS if you are confident in your riding skills and you are not traveling alone. I think the trip would have been more difficult if there was some rain. It was very very dry.

Great Report Oscar and Sanjoh. Disregard my PM, I've read the entire post. Excellent adventure riding. I'm sure I'll have some questions about how you set up your GS as I just purchased the same bike. That California Pass in Colorado looked a bit "alp-ish"

Thanks for the comments The trip was a blast and I can't wait to finish the rest next year.
Just PM me for bike set up questions. Just remember that what works for one rider may not be right for another...
