Gunk On Kick Stand Sensor

Just Got My 990 S Back After A Tune Up. Went For A Local Ride On A Dirt Road When All Of A Sudden It Shut Down. I Happened To Be Standing And Thought For A Moment I Was Going Over The Bars. Anyway It Turned Out To Be The Kickstand Magnetic Switch With Chain Gunk All Over It. (a Previously Known Issue)

I just purchased two sidestand bypass kits one for my 950se and one for the 690 hard enduro. The 690 left me stranded once and keeps getting knocked out of adjustment. My dealer had never heard of the kit KTM part#61011046044 for $28.99 Good luck

Be sure that this sucker is tight and rotated as far clockwise (i.e., up) as possible. If it stalls while you're standing, you may actually be touching the kickstand with your heel and killing the engine!! Trust me on this one...

bypass switches

work great one the SE's but from what I remember you dont need them for the Adventures.

Check the HOW or the OC sticky all you have to do is connect two wires on the adventure and you are done. ASk CPMODEM as I am sure he can point you

CP to the rescue again. Thanks everyone. I will invest in the bypass kit, I didn't think about my boot hitting the stand.
I just ordered a TKC 80 for the front and a Dunlap 908 RR for the rear. I plan on riding the GLDS/AMA National Adventure ride here in Michigan next month. The ride is broken down into: EXC suitable trails, DRZ 400 suitable trails and, GS suitable roads. I would like to try the DRZ difficulty trails.
Thank for the help

Is that really the way they divide the trails, or just your take on it? I'm in the market for a smaller DS bike to compliment the 990 and have been debating EXC v. DRZ. Interesting division!

I think thats just the way that the GLDS describes them.

My vote: EXC, most guys in the GLDS use EXCs
