found tunnel road today, was quite the challenge, rocks were pretty wet & slick in several spots and made for tough going.
I wouldn't recommend this road for anyone w anything short of a dirtbike, big dual sports would be a royal pita (at least when its wet)

Tunnel road is a town road and only about 1/2 mile of it is challenging. It's kind of out in the middle of nothing else so it's not much of a destination if challenge is your goal.

Sunday ride?

I got a new R1200GS, and I've finally got my panniers and engine guard installed. I still have the stock tires... but I'm thinking of riding from Boston on Sunday May 5th to give this a shot. This will be my first real off-road riding on my R1200GS, and I've only done dirt bikes a few times at my grandmother's place. So I'm pretty green and sure to be on my side a few times.

BUT... I want to do it. Anyone care to join me?

The GS is a perfect machine for the TMT, as HulkedUp (OP) will, I am sure, reiterate. It was designed for big adventure bikes - docile dirt roads meandering through the countryside - you'll have a most enjoyable ride!

I'll second that. Rode it last year on my 650 thumper with knobbies and that was overkill. This year I'm going back and doing it on the Vstrom with 50/50 tires, a more appropriate choice.

But why stop there? Connect up with the VT Puppy Dog route and keep going to the Canuckistanian border!!

Good question. Haven't heard from Mr Bill in a while. He is probably off in the tropics enjoying all the money he banked during tax season!

Rode from Greenfield down to the end of Curtins rd. Was a tad wet but not bad. Had fun. Full day of riding, from leaving Gloucester, doing and out and back.

Came across two people on a KTM and a Triumph. ADV members?

Rode it today from Greenfield south to the CT state line. Rode with Inmate tibbon, who broke in his new R1200GS. Saw Hulked Up and some others at the Creamery. All roads were in very good condition and easily rideable (inc. any marked "CLOSED"). The weather left something to be desiredv(rain off and on and 38 in Cummington!) but it was still a great ride.

Good seeing you today Flei. How'd you guys make out on River Road?

We rode part of the route today while we were out and about. Curtin Road was probably the best part. Miles of riding through the woods without a soul around. All the roads were in good condition. The only blockage we found was on Stage Road, where there were concrete blocks up at both ends of the unmaintained sections. They looked easy to pass through and I imagine they'll be moved out soon.

Thanks Hulked Up for creating the TMT! River Road was fine, with a lot of water running but solid bottom. The block on Stage road was wide enough for tibbon's r1200gsa with BIG panniers to squeeze through. The most "technical" riding was on Hawkes Rd. (Deerfield), which had a few wet spots and ruts. Overall, I found all roads in better shape than last year at this time, which given our wet Spring surprised me.
