Corona to Cooks Corner

Never ridden the CNF. Is it possible to go from Corona to Cooks Corner? (On dirt hopefully)

Chris,

I am nobody here, but I believe you can do that ride, depending on gate closures, which is being discussed in another thread here regarding the Cleveland National Forest.

I haven't been there in a couple of years, but the last time I was on my street bike, there were a few dualsport guys talking about entering at a gate I believe off of Ontario Street on the Corona side and the trails ended up taking them somewhere near Cooks (I guess tha't called Silverado Canyon).

I will leave more accurate answers to the experts around here before I mispeak and get my self in trouble.

Chris,

No can do via Silverado as the gate is closed.

You can enter at Bedford Motorway, and ride over to Ortega Hwy. Just be sure you are street legal...

At Ortega, theres Hells Kitchen for refreshments.

How about from North main divide down to holy jims canyon? Is that trail gated? Sorry, don't know the name of trail. If open then one could drop to holy jims and it will be a 5 mile ride to cooks on Live Oaks twisties.

The trail from Main divide to Holy Jim is not open to motor vehicles.

When Maple SPrings Rd ( Silverado Canyon ) opens up, you should be able to reach Cooks Corner without taking Hwy 74.

Posted on another thread:

"Maple Springs Road will remain closed until work associated with cleanup of tailings at the old Blue Light Mine is complete. The road could reopen as early as Thanksgiving weekend or early December, depending on when work is complete."

Gas available?

Only beer farts.

Closest would be down to Lake Elsinore.
