Now that we got the LEO, how about the FDR. Would that be an acronym for the 32nd president.

FDR, yes, that would be President Roosevelt. In John's reference, it's the FDR drive in Manhattan. It's the road along the East River in Manhattan. Us NY'ers are so used to nicknaming things, sorry we didnt splain it earlier.

Grab-a-dabba-do!!

Location: Somewhere BFE Rattlesnake Run Road, I meant to write down the GPS coords but forgot.

The Ride: The first 72 miles took 1:15 the last 2.5 took 1:15. Solid Ice. One of the most rewarding rides I have ever done. I finally settled on a first gear just above idle, both feet dragging, glancing up occasionally so as not to miss the damn tree technique. This resulted in only 3 lay-downs, I was literally 50 feet from giving up, taking a picture of a stump I passed pasteing that and saying they cut the damn tree down when I looked up and saw a flash of yellow!! Hallaluya!!! Here it is:

The SOLID ice road leading in.

The way out, you can't tell it here and I hadn't noticed on the way in but that is a slight hill, one that I ended up duck-walking the DRZ up for about 100 yards before I could get enough traction to get her going on her own.

This is one of my favorite ride to eat restaurants. Good food and cheap!

Those of you that know the area, or me, should be grateful the GreenRidge State Forest is in Maryland, I know a lot of good trees, and other stuff, there.

The Avatar isn't big enough to read, so here is a close up of the sign that Beantop left for me.

Very kind of him, I think I will keep it as a memento, or wipe my butt with it, I haven't decided.

Talking Yippie!! great snag Wingfixer

great job!!! Hey !!! you Stole My sign(ha ha). Now I have to go down and put another on there. I drove down Tuesday night (I think:the night it snowed) and put the sign on the tree so there would be no confusion. It looks like you came in from the wrong end. The hint said to come from above (north is UP, usually) Did you come in from old fordge road (north) or mentzer Gap (south). Old fordge Road is alot closer (about 1 mile). Were the hard roads snow free. see that wasn't so hard to find. The other tree was just across Old fordge road about a mile up the hill. but if it was all ice that would have been fun. I went up in a dusting of snow and didn't get a chance to get in a high enough gear and spun most of he way with knobies. On the way down I forgot to turn of the ABS, That was fun.

Maybe we should go with a rock theme next!!!! .

This should give all you guys incentive to get it before I do. Remember I got nothing but tyme on my hands, and it gets pretty boring sitting in front of my puter all day.

Great grab:::

I'll let it sit a week or so(maybe a day) and see if anyone gets the Road Kill Cafe before I go for it. Don't temp me to put it at another ROCK(Ha HA)

Yeah, I came in from the South. I had the Garmin "avoiding" Highways on the way there and I just mindlessly followed its directions to a point in the middle of RRR. If I had known Old Forge rode was paved I woulda done it that way. All the paved roads where clear and for the most part clean. Be careful going to Road Kill though, the roads are good until the last 5 or so miles, from that point the corners are really full of gravel and crap. Its a fun ride no matter how you get there though.

I'll give some one else a chance on this one. I don't want to be a tag hog.
nice job on the AVATR!!!. I was wondering if the sign would hold up in the rain. It's a good thing I had it there cause the tree was hard to see from the south. I originally came from the south looking for the blue blaze tag and didn't see it till I came from the north.(I was in my truck though).

Yup, no way I would have seen that tree coming from the South without the sign - THANKS!!

Sunday is looking like a great day for a ride, since the Eagles did their norm I am hoping someone will move the WV tag before then - hint hint.

Wing,

Thanks for getting this tag. Removes the temptation to go for it myself. I knew that road would be a sheet of ice.

Nice Tag, Wing

I was going to sit back and enjoy the game. Tracking the clues and riding to the tag are great fun but I must say since my slip and down I personally have been reluctant to go out there and play. Keep the game going and when the ice clears the Uly will be there!
