I was thinking about going there for ice cream this afternoon, but had too much other crap going on.
Just be careful, the twp. just "tarred & chipped" a bunch of the roads around there about 2 weeks ago. I ride those roads every day, and there are still a bunch of spots with plenty of loose "chips" around.

Mountain road is in good shape. The roads around Hecla and Clamtown still have some deep piles of chips on them.

Be careful folks.

Wow, hard to believe no-one went for ice cream this afternoon, and it was so beautiful. If all else fails, I will have to grab the tag on my way home from work tomorro.

New Tag

Gentlemen, the weather should be great this week. I think we can tag, retrieve & set 5 locations in 5 days. Therefore I will drop this tag now so hopefully it can be snagged later today.

No need to research unique buildings or structures with this location, just use your GPS set up as decimal degrees. Note the elevation. 1,400ft. And think, hiking, your mom's cooker on a hot summer day and a bump on the mountain.

Don't know if I'll be able to get to it today, tho.

Don't bother going to get it; I already did.

Nice location, but please remember to warn people if gravel roads are required to get to the tag.

New tag will be up in a while.

Bake Oven Road, Lehighton, PA? about 2 1/2 miles north of Mountain Road, on border of lehigh and carbon county, west of 476 and east of 309. Is that also the Appalachian trail?

I just discovered Reservoir road, just east of there on a recent run to Jim Thorpe from Chester County. Didn't know it was dirt until I was on it. Not a bad road, though.

Bake Oven Knob parking area. Walk the App Trail about .5 mile east to an overview of the entire Lehigh Valley looking southeast or the Poconos looking northeast. Loaded with large boulders on a natural hump. Thus the name Baked Oven Knob.

Parking location is west of the Lehigh River 7.75 miles at the top of Blue Mtn.

It is where the other guys said. Don't worry, I already told the map keeper where it is. Now if only he would get the map updated.

New Tag

Sorry about not getting this out earlier. My plans of dropping it while still riding didn't work out quite as well as I hoped.

I didn't feel like giving clues, so everything you need to find this tag is still in the picture. BTW, they are not open Monday or Tuesday, so I did not get to sample their product
