Damn, I just realized I could have grabbed the tag at the Jaffa last weekend. I was in Altoona doing the father/son thing. In fact, I posted the one way sign comment from the Motel 6. I just didn't bother looking for the tag location.

Thanks PABiker. It's the first lookout on the left as you're driving out of the park on Sugarloaf Road/SR2012.

No problem. I knew where it was as soon as Bomber posted it up, but I was stuck at work. I was hoping it would still be there Friday, I have a 4 day weekend coming up so I'll be watching for your drop.

I didn't hit 601, although I did come into Windber on my way back. I picked up one of those nice maps at Walmat yesterday, only to leave it at my camper this morning, and I was cursing myself a few times today, especially in downtown Johnstown this morning. Duh!

Thanks for picking this location, it's a really nice park.

New Tag

On July 16th, 1780, this Capt. and 11 of his men were captured by indians. 10 of those men were killed and later buried by a search party. Only the Capt. and his son survived, to be realeased by the British at the end of the Revolution. This site is the burial site of those 10 Rangers.

Another shot of the burial site.

No problem Brad. I was hoping it would have still been there tomorrow. It's been 3 months since I've been to Ohio Pyle and was looking forward to going there.

Looks like I'll be heading East tomorrow if Max's tag is still there.

Bad directions

I called some info center for raystown before I left, and the lady told me it was past saxton and up in broad top , which turned out to be a railroad memorial, I blew right past it on my way there. I had a set of google directions that were no good either. I just happened to see the little sign for it on my way back towards raystown.

New tag up tonight!
