It was in my neighborhood. Easy to fetch except for black ice.
Walnutport, PA. The canal runs along the Lehigh River once used to transport coal from Carbon County & beyond down into the Philadelphia area, thus the *port*. And we have Black Walnut trees everywhere. They grow like weeds. This is Bertsch Creek which drains into the Lehigh River. This is not the canal I mentioned above. Maybe later.

The EAGLES are the BIG BLUE BUSTERS. Love it! Great game, as usual.

I am glad I stopped and checked before getting on the turnpke. Would of been a long cool ride for nothing. I guess I will ride up to Scranton for breakfast since I am out.

The rat wears it's scares with pride. At 24 it's had some hard times. A bent shifter and clutch lever. Both fixed in the vise already. Me? I wilk be in the vise a touch longer. But just fine. I laughed as I went down. Slid to my feet and got the camera out. Its the joy of owning a rat bike. No worries.

Now I need to find a cheap new rat bike. I think I want a
KLR to adventure tour on. Something beat but sound. Something to ride the TAT with this summer and ride to South America on next winter. A bike I can drop with no worries. KTM and BMW are real nice. But not in the budget. Plus if the trip down sucks. I won't feel bad walking away from a rat klr and getting a plane home.

Main worry about dropping a KLR is if it falls ON you. Downhill. With a full tank of gas.

I gave up trying to get the durn thing off of me, and finally just wiggled and pulled the leg out from underneath.

The KLR and I were not hurt. Actually, I think the KLR liked it.

Funny you should mention it, I just bought a '99 KLR650, off Craig's List. Come to find out, he was one of my flight students years ago, lives in Centermoreland. Asking $1500, got it for $1200, without even asking! Nice shape, 20k+ miles. Like you, wanted something I could beat, and still find parts for (unlike my 2 NX's).
I've been busy at the store, but after the holiday's, I'll be a taggin'. Thinkin' about spikes.

Take care Dennis. Stop in if you're up this way.

New Tag

Dennis, I hope you are ok. Really hurts, those pesky slips on ice. Been there myself. Good way to tear some ligaments or more.....
Just traded my KLR for the BMW in my tag. KLR's can easily be found in PA. You shouldn't have any trouble locating a decent machine.

Ok, back to TOR.

New tag, check my earlier post for the clue. Closer to center of town.
