Possible to move Tourtech GPS mount from one bike to another?
I’m planning on buying a GPS map 478 and a Tourtech locking mount (Touratech Locking MvG 065-0088). The primary use will be on a KTM 640a but I would like the flexibility to move the mount quickly to another bike. I should be able to attach the mount to the standard KTM roadbook holder on the Adventure. How do I attach the mount to another bike like a BMW RT or a Honda Black bird? Can the same mount be connected to a clipon or triple clamp? Do I need to buy an additional adapter? Thanks!

RAM mounting hardware. Look on the Cycoactive/Touratech USA web sit for options and examples.

Sure it's possible. How you do it is up to you. However you do it, make sure the mounting point is solid. The TT mounts for these units use 4 bolts on the bottom of the plate to attach to a round bar, or you can design your own using the 4 holes.
The beauty of the mounts, especially the MvG mount, is that they are rock solid when solidly attached to your motorcycle. If the point you mount them to is not, you've defeated the whole purpose. My 376c has taken a lot of trips sideways from 3 feet up to a sudden stop while attached to the MvG and has never missed a beat. But then again I used the bar mounts for the 950A and R12GSA to do so. I do have a Ram on my DRZ, but I save that for my 60csx. Lighter weight and less expensive to replace. Dave

The only think I'd be careful about is that if you use the crossbar mount (as I do) it uses Nyloc-type (not sure they're 'official') nuts. I'm none too sure that these are re-usable, and I certainly wouldn't re-use them on a regular basis.

Thanks for the advice.
Is there a stability difference between mounting on a KTM road book holder versus a handle bar support bracket? I ordered a generic Touratech bar mount for the road bikes. Thanks again.

One REALLY stupid thing about the TT mount for the 60 series - the way the power plug threads into the mount you can't pull it out without removing the power cord from the bike and pulling the small ends through the mount.
I suppose I coud add some kind of quick disconnect but still a pain.
