Talking of pups, the first of the seasons fundraisers for the local strays and animal sanctuary was imminent. The better half had been busy knitting







painting roof tiles,








and baking fruit cakes of which there are no pics 'cos I woofed the lot


Anyway, cometh the day, cometh the crowds







and one of the deserving causes. Jilly (aka Flipper) the puppy was dumped outside the local dog sanctuary. A sweet natured little girl with wobbly legs who hobbled about on her elbows. 1000 Turkish Lira was the estimated cost of an op to help her out.







The Mrs was running a stall so I thought I'd better check up on her. She was doing OK, a local cat had bought her






giving me a chance to slip away and have a ride Glad to see the storm has passed

and Bougainvillea are all out








All in all a lovely day. Big hearted volunteers and a supportive public between them raised a record amount to go towards the feeding, neutering, treatment and rehoming of the local stray and abandoned dogs. And Jilly the sad, abandoned pup







named after the lady who found her?







Well the money was raised for her op. She's had some X-rays and the Mrs may be collecting her from the vets today

.............................Burkhard had strapped his skateboard to the back of his fun palace and headed south east from his wolf's lair in Bavaria. Better go and look for somewhere to try it out then







Oh, we must be there






















Though he's not far short of his seventh decade the man can ride. After a couple of hours we both needed to take on water. Even this he manages with a degree of composure and nonchalance

Next stop RTWDoug's gaffe in Bulgaria for a HU meet

So the plan was to meet up with some old friends, track down Dave-in-Turkey and attend RTWdoug's HU mini meet, all in Bulgaria

The old friends were the Double Dutchies, Marco and Dorine who arrived by spaceship







to do some sightseeing







and posing







When asked how he maintained his good looks Marco let me in on his beauty regime. Nothing more complicated than letting your topbox heat up in the midday sun and then face-butting it

We'd RV'd at Deb and Andy's place in Idilevo just up from RTWDoug's place.








A fantastic place with super hosts and a luxurious apartment for couples and their mates






All too soon the couple of cloggies had to clear off on a bike tour before reporting back to the mothership. Best bugger off then, mate!







A few days later they used their bike as armour plating against an out of control tractor and trailer driven by an inebriated Turk on a mountain track near Permagon. Final score? A bashed up bike, two battered and bruised Clogs and a banged up (by the Polis) tractor driver.







Anyway, with the dyke walkers gone it was time to take in some more sights on Poly's bike which she kindly let me hire

Next stop, tracking down Dave-in-Turkey Dave, and the lovely Linda, left Turkey a couple of years ago to start a new life in Turkey. We'd communicated on the interweb but never actually met. Better put that right. Here he is, with Tigger 'cos he bounces, apparently






Dave and Linda bought an old shed and have turned it into a fine house with a couple of sheds








Along with rearing goats








Linda is taking dancing lessons






However, all is not well in Dingly Dell. Dave and Linda don't have a bike. Better remind them what one feels like







A lovely couple of hours spent in great company. Cheers chaps Better head back to Idilevo to see what's appertaining










On the way to Doug's place we stopped in a large town where a bunch of blokes were performing a variety of blow jobs







Others were shaking their limbs about in a strange fashion






and I have absolutely no idea what was going on here but there were kids in the audience so it must ave been legal







Eventually to Doug's place but first, how to get past ferocious Harley?






A tickle on her belly did the trick and I was in the hallowed courtyard






Where on display were all sorts of bits of metal and rubber that had been forged, fashioned and fabricated to vaguely resemble motorcycles











Seeking out Doug I came across a kipping couple Bobby the cat and Martin. Martin is the same age as my dad. Martin rides his farkled Beemer around Europe. My dad stays at home and waters the roses and falls asleep in front of the telly, still love him to bits though







Found Doug Dickin Around in Doug's Garage - ADVrider . Not sure what he was up to but I reckon Harley was getting her just reward for touching one of Doug's bikes without asking.






And the meeting, well you're just gonna have to make the trip yourselves and find out what these meetings are all about. You won't be dissapointed

Good to hear that the dutch couple are ok and hopefully Dave and Linda will get a couple of wheels in the future ...

With the temps in the low 40's there ain't much appertaining. Sleep all night and carry on the lack of motion during the day






Still, on the odd occasion that I can get out without melting the tyres the effort is worth it












Off back to RTWDoug's place in Bulgaria at the end of September to hopefully meet up with a couple of wandering folk
