640,oil seeping from exhaust studs
Afternoon peeps, just finished putting the bike back together after its winter overhaul, when it came to putting the exhaust back on i forgot to tighten flange fully before attaching springs(they where tight but not fully set,i did set them afterwards) now i noticed when i started it that there was a little smoke coming from the right hand side flange but to be honest it looked a wee bit to thick for it to be exhaust fumes, anyhow after closer inspection i noticed that 2 of the bolts seem to be slightly oily(like they would if you had oil on you hands when you fitted them) i thought that this might be residue but after a few "keep the battery charged 5 mins) that it is still doing it. So could it be that i need to undo the springs and tighten again or is there another possible cause.
P.S. the bike had no problems before being put away and the only engine work that was done has been an oil and filter change and the valve clearences, any help gratefully recieved. |
