I'm still limping along on this project - not able to devote a big block of time to it at once.

Here's where I started....

A couple weeks ago, I measured up the dimensions of the welded on damper tower and the OE triple clamp. I cut down the tower 0.30, and reamed the bore to accept a pin (5/16"). New steering bearing cups (Timkins) were pressed into the steering head, the new bearings packed, and the triples reinstalled.

I swapped out the OE pinch bolts for some trick stainless allens, and assembled the front end, using a spare Dirt Star front wheel from the 950SE.

Almost a roller....

Over the last few mornings, when I should have been somewhere else, I tinkered on the bike a bit more. And a few more parts trickled in.

I repacked the swingarm bearings, and reinstalled the swingarm, rear brake and wheel. I ditched the brake hanger, and installed a sharkfin. And a larger fluid reservoir.

New chain sliders and a new chain guide were a good idea at this point. These items, as well as chain rollers, are often overlooked and this leads to trouble.

Another view of the damper assembly...

After a lot of thought, I decided I wanted to go with a single 320mm rotor - like the 640 Adventures once had. I found a new EBC floating rotor and bracket on eBay, and on it went. I had to machine a relief on the bracket to clear the OE rotor bolts, and also cut down the caliper pin thread length for clearance.

Early this morning after work, I did a little more. Starting to look like a motorcycle once again.

I'll keep updating as I make progress.

It's to position the seat to clear the tanks.

Somehow, I forgot to post these ones.

Test fitting the bodywork....

The 'glass needs some significant fiberglass work, but I'm going to try to make it all live again.
