Michigan to Mammoth Caves National Park, Kentucky
to
![]() ![]() Camping at the National Park campgrounds ![]() The first cave tour we went on was the ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Think any woodchucks live down there? ![]() The tour included an overview of the history behind the caves. When the caves originally opened, slaves used to conduct the tours. For tips, they would write patrons names on the walls. ![]() ![]() What ride report wouldn’t be complete without bacon? ![]() ![]() After the lengthy tour, it was time to head back to camp for dinner. Since the area around the campsites was picked clean of fire wood, we had to venture a little farther out to find some. ![]() Once back at the campsite, we had a fire, dinner ![]() ![]() ![]() and once cuddlecousin went to bed, we got out what ![]() ![]() The next day we went for a ride. We started off by taking the ![]() ![]() ![]() and drove some back country roads. The scenery was rolling and dotted with old barns. ![]() ![]() ![]() and of course, horses. If you look close enough, there's a donkey! ![]() The last tour we went on was the Violet City Lantern Tour. It’s a “no cameras, phones or other light emitting device” tour and was illuminated solely by kerosene lantern light. Both tours were great, the campsites well maintained. One thing that was a little unnerving was the amount of deer and how tame they were. You would see them grazing right along the side of the road and they weren’t shy about coming up to say hello either. I leave with a couple parting shots of the little doe that would make her way through the campgrounds each morning.![]()

Finally...I've been waiting on this report for over a week.... ![]() How was the new Ninja? Is that the longest ride you've taken on her yet? I have never been to Kentucky besides a very brief interstate only ride with zero time to explore. That part of the country has just escaped me so far but one day I'll make it out there... Nice RReport Cuddles...

I rode to the caves in March, there are some great roads going into the back entrance of the park, and we also went on the same tour, great stuff.
