Where's the N. Al. dinner thread?

Have I been missing out?
South Huntsville?, Guntersville?, Arab?

After you take the run up CR #8 from Woodville, drop down the hill on CR #21 and eat at The Famous Pikeville Store. Great burgers and fries!

I had ridden by that place many times, and always figured it for another pickled egg and moon pie store, but I ventured up that way for lunch today and you're right, they have great burgers.

However, the general intent of this thread was to see if there was any interest in arranging an ADV dinner......ride to a restaurant, eat, chit-chat, go home type thing. Anyone up for that?

Dinner?

Sounds like a plan if there will be food! Where y'all want it? Huntsville? Cullman?

Well, I know GSBS and DeBandi are somewhere near I-65 between B'Ham and H'ville, ADVMax is near Gadsden......I know there's more. Not sure where a central-ish location would be, but I wouldn't wanna get more than an hour or so away from my house on a school night, so it'd need to be east of I-65.....

Pick something around Centre, I'm never gonna make it to one of those vortex things.

I'm just north of Birmingham in the Dixiana area. Most any location is ok. Time and day of week would be deciding factors for me.

Centre is fine with me......might be a bit far for the guys near the I-65 corridor. I'll go ahead and throw next Thursday (8/28) out as a date......with Centre and Guntersville as a couple of options. I know a couple of good places in Guntersville (Wentzells and Top of the River), not too awfully familiar with Centre. There's a Catfish Cabin in Albertville, and a decent BBQ place in Geraldine.

My tastes are pretty low rent, you got me thinking about pickled eggs and moon pies. I would hesitate to recommend any eatery, ya'll pick it, and if it's close enough, I'll be there.

Ride to dinner

Guys,

I wish I could.

I travel for a living. Getting home and hopping on the bike to do dinner is just not an option for me. I have to be very selective due to my work travel schedule. Take some pictures for me.

Looking forward to seeing everybody on a weekend adventure sometime soon.

Ah, I canna do next Thursday. 'Tis OFMC (Old Farts Motorcycle Club) meeting night, ya see. The more north of Birmingham the harder it would be for me to make it anyway, least for a week night. If this turns into a repeating event perhaps the location could be different each time? I'll stay tuned to see what develops.

I don't get over here much, spend most of my time on KLR650.net....

I'm in Priceville, Al. I'll keep an eye on this from here on.

Well, if we've got Al in Priceville to the west, and Mike in Rome to the east, then Boaz is pretty near 1/2 way.......actually if you draw a square with I-65, I-20 and the north and east state lines, Boaz is nearly dead center. I don't think it's wet though, so if you want beer you'll have to bring some. So, let's say 8/28 in Boaz.....6-ish? If three or more commit I'll find a restaurant. Post up here or PM me.

I'd like to make it but a 4-on/4-off 12 hour work schedule has me working 28th and 29th.

I'll make the next one.
