You're right, that sounds way too high for an auction. $12.3K is top top dollar for a perfect one these days, IMO. The low miles one Chicago BMW had a couple months ago went for less, IIRC.

Ther was a supposed 600 mile 06 GSA on ebay a couple of months ago...I inquired and the reserve was set at $17k!!! Tracked it and it later sold for $14.5 A low mile stock bike should be in the 11k range IMHO.
Pics of mine 2 days ago ...Winter sucks!

I love those black "lobe protectors". Those are Touratech I think? Any thoughts about them? Great pics too.

Touratech ADV Tank Protectors. I had one of the first production sets on my 2005 GSA which was set up for serious off road. They are bombproof. Wasn't sure they were still available but the set on my '06 was shipped to me a month ago. $130 delivered if I remember correctly. These were installed mostly for aestetics (I like 'em) but it would be just my luck to drop the thing in a parking lot and lay the tank on a fire hydrant...cheap insurance for a $1500 tank!

Venture over to the Dark (Stealth) Side

Ok, so maybe I have seriously violated the integrity of 2006 SE...but maybe not. I swapped out my ADV windshield for a stock GS shield that has been blacked out (fromthe backside) and I painted a spare headlight cowl the same satin black. I had done the same treatment a few years ago on a mandarin GS and really liked it. I think the black/white contrast is cleaner than the black/white/silver clear of the stock version...what do you think?

ps. I just converted my low beam to a YELLOW 3000k HID...gotta love it.

I like it! Looks alot cleaner. Does the blackened windscreen cut out alot of your vision? I look over my windscreen, but I think if it were painted black it would annoy me too much. Looks nice though!

Takes about 15 minutes to get used to it. If you really look thru the stock windshield, you will notice LOTS of distortion, so your not losing vision, just really adapting to the color change. Instruments & GPS are MUCH easier to see ...bug splats are harder to see Very similar to most Dakar style fairings ...

Awaiting a new owner...

'06 SE Brethren,

It has come to my attention by one of my cage pilot buddies in need of a mount that one of our herd has been put out to stud, awaiting a new owner. She's got a notch over37K miles on her and the dealer is asking a premium of $11,295. Farkeless, she looks in great condition. Check her out for yourself on the website of a BMW dealer located in
Jessup, MD. Anywho...Does anyone out there in ADVRiderland have any info on this abandoned ride for my buddy? Thanks for any help y'all can give!

Price is too high with no stuff and those miles. IMHO (fwiw)
Can your friend get the last four numbers of the VIN?
