HEY, if you do a google search for "2006 BMW R1150GS" the registry made it to the first page of search results! It seems that the first couple of spots are currently occupied by advrider posts, lol.

I've got one. Will post later after I get home and can get the VIN. I have seen a few others at rallies, too, including a couple at Watkins Glen last weekend, neither of which is included among the 20 listed. I think what is most telling is that you have started to identify an upper and lower range of production numbers, giving a fair sense of just how many are out there.

Yep, mine is the red accented one. The PO had an issue with...well, which required peeling off the old decals and for whatever reaon he got the red ones to replace. I purchased the blue ones from twowheelhumvee but haven't put them on yet...for various reasons. Definitely part of my plan. I do have the blue accented seat but use a Corbin for its long distance comfort....and 'cause it came on the bike.

Big Nick did you hear about this thread on UKGSer?

Picked one up myself this week. I'll have to confirm the VIN number later as it sounds a bit low. Bought the bike in the UK but I'm in Dublin, Ireland.

The last 3 digits are #107 as stated on the documentation

Thumb

I was just made aware of this thread and I like it!! I too like the 1150 better than the 1200 for built and ride quality.
I purchased the bike in Sept of '05 from 441 Cycle shop in Ft. Lauderdale. and this dealer sold 5 of the SE models!!! As I was the first buyer, I must have started a trend down here.....
My bike has 60K (s)miles on it and has been to AK last year and done a big part of the TAT this past summer.
Last three of the VIN# 482
My sig line has the RR's from both trips, but here is a teaser...

resting a bit on the TAT trail....

Idea Man,

Who makes that nice tank and headlight gaurd with light mounts on your 06' ? I've got on 04' GSA that would look really nice with that setup.

That would be Hepco and Becker. Us the search function and you will be pointed in the right direction. Full crash bars and headlight surround protection.

HTH, Nick

That would be correct. H-B Cylinder head Bars and Tank bars.

http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/index.cfm
On here, I got mine from Adventurers Workshop. He did right by me. YMMV

The headlight guard itself, the mesh part, is taken from an ADV shield (with the legs cut off), "welded"/Zip-tied to the H-B Guard, and then painted to match.

I love the look of the HB-tank bars and the head protectors are very sturdy. Light mounts are stock.
