I have shit canned the starter safety crap off each and every bike I have ever owned.....

I see this stuff as excess weight and unneeded extra electrical stuff that gets in the way and is only a problem(s) waiting to happen...

I have never had any complications from eliminating this junk on any bike....all you have to do is look before you leap/rip/tear/cut.....just make sure you know how the stuff/swithes and the like are wired...and how they work ( usually open on or open closed variations).....then systematically remove the items down to the source(harness)...

I'm with Dao - junk the crap. the kickstand interrupt can screw you at the worst time, the clutch lever switch can go bonkers from catching brush in it, not even falling over. Just the govt protecting us from ourselves.

the ability to use the starter as a motion device I found very helpful when I had a KLR.

So Dog, where'd ya' get a new '03 Adventure? Congratufreakinlations! Hope you didn't get hosed on the price, I've heard of US dealers getting all greedy... if they still had one in stock.

Yep, if it starts in gear with the clutch in, your good to go.

Creep

Oh yea', thats a Sinclair 3000 hand lathe

Creeper, I bought in from a dealer up here in BC. Paid $9975 CAD = $7400 USD approx. I'm happy with the deal. The KTM Canada warehouse still has some 2003's apparently that you can order for just a little more $. I am going out of mind waiting for the end of the month though. 1 more week...ugh!

Pretty good price Dog. Your gona' love the shit out of it. We may want to prospect you for the fraternal order of the "I ride an LC4... I'll take it any way I can get it"* group... BC chapter of course. Dagwood is the Supreme Over-thruster and I'm the janitor and social event parking attendant.

Ta Ta,
