Now this is one I can comment on! I have one! Invite all your friends, add a campfire, a little beer, and witness the worst wrecks one can ever imagine with the biggest kids on the planet. Way too much fun!

Bumped in to a Sheriff out on the county road once, he was laughing so hard he didn't know what to say other than have a good day!

RE: XR600R location

Sorry, I went in yesterday and put the location in the text after it came to my attention that it was missing.

1971 Honda SL350 K1 ** SOLD **

A dual sport from the days when they used to call them "enduro". More of an around town bike now. And honestly, though I've done a ton of work on this bike, it is still a bit of a project (i.e. there are still a few items that you would likely want to address). I'd love to keep it, everyone comments on it, but I'm trying to raise funds for a dr650. Asking $2K (price dropped). Shoot me an offer if you are interested. I'm located in Shoreline, which is the north end of Seattle. See below pics for more info (copied from my CL ad).

From my CL ad (last paragraph modified):
A vintage survivor, rescued from my neighbor's garage where it sat for 25 years. I did a lot of work to make it run and drive again, some of which is documented in a blog here: http://sl350.blogspot.com. It has not been fully restored, and is not entirely free of issues. But the major lifting has already been done, and she is in pretty nice shape for her age. It presently has only about 5400 original miles on it.

If you talk to anyone who has been riding since "the day", they will have fond memories of their SL350, or at least of the one their friend had. The SL was an enduro bike, for both on and off road, a sibling of the CB350 and CL350. I hope that the buyer will keep it original, but it would also make a suitable platform for a street tracker or a cafe racer (the frame was coveted in its day for being light weight).

I've decided to get a newer, larger displacement, adventure bike and I need to raise some cash. I did a lot or work to return the SL to running order after 25 years parked. But that work did not involve any real cosmetic restoration (other than cleaning it up), and I didn't always use original parts where suitable after-market copies were available. That said, the bike is in very good cosmetic condition for its age and those few non-original parts could easily be replaced with OEM alternatives.

The good:

Lots of new stuff including:
chain
spark plugs
points
condensers
voltage regulator and rectifier replaced with integrated, solid-state, unit
fuel lines, with added fuel filters
petcock
air filter
oil filter cleaned (centrifugal type, does not require replacement)
oil changed several times while cleaning out the stuff that accumulated from sitting
added turn signals (didn't have any originally), electronic flasher, and switch
a bunch of misc. gaskets and hardware
battery
tires and tubes (still have those new-tire hairs on them)
carburetor internals (jets, needles, gaskets)
repair manual
battery tender pigtail attached to battery
I'm sure there is more, but I can't think of it now.

I registered it a classic vehicle, never needs tabs again. And it can run the old green WA plate (which was still on bike when I got it).

The bad:

The bike runs and drives pretty well now, but it isn't perfect. I'm not a mechanic and I haven't got it tuned just right. It is hard starting when cold. When it gets fully up to temperature the idle lopes some. With a bit more tuning I'm sure you could work those issues out. I moved on to another project before I got it perfect. Also, neutral can be pretty tricky to find, as it often is on vintage bikes. I really only use it when I park. Dynamo cover seeps a bit of oil when hot, may need new o-ring. Oh, and it could use some new fork seals.

Though it has not had a true cosmetic restoration, it looks pretty nice for a 1971 original. But it has its minor blemishes. From 5 or 10 feet she's a beauty (see blog pics).

Clear title in my name. I posted a quick walk-around video of the bike from a couple of weeks ago (sorry for the shaky camera work) here: http://youtu.be/Vx7sl3eCrew

Vario Bags & Redverz tent

Vario bags for 2012 GS. I got these with the bike and a week later went and got the aluminum bags. These were on the bike for a week, since then have been stored in the garage on top of the car lift. With mount brackets and locks pulled out. (You will have to have re-keyed) $400 OBO

Redverz tent bought in Sept 2012. Used once on a nice weekend with no rain. I upgraded to a toy hauler and no longer have use for it. $250

Don't be afraid to give me a non-ridiculous offer.
